If that was you in Harden's position, you would NOT be saying the same thing.

That is a guarantee.

No ****, because then we'd be looking at it from an un-objective point of view

They bumped into each other... and then Artest kept moving as if nothing had happened. If you strike someone in the head you're going to have a reaction to it.

And he did have a reason. Harden was killing LA, and Artest can't control his emotions.

People forget just how big and strong these dudes are. Go back and read Grantland's article on the Brawl. One thing they talk about is how Pistons fans would go down there all hyped and ready to take on the Pacers player... only for them to get there, see how big they are, and go oh crap.
But do you know what they call a fool, who's full of himself and jumps into the path of death because it's cool?

LOL. Only at RealGM

Kobe wasn't injured on that play....It makes a difference. That, and you're completely ignoring the fact that Ron Artest has a history of being an idiot, Raja Bell not so much.

Lakers trainers cleared him to play. OKC just played it safe. He's not injured. And give me a break, the Malice happened 8 years ago

You have to look at the player's history. Raja Bell, aside from that incident, doesn't have a lot of incidents involving throwing elbows or deliberately hurting others. It doesn't happen that the Malice was 8 years ago, Artest was suspended an entire season for that, not to mention numerous other incidents.

If this were, say, George Hill, I don't think many people would call it out to be a 10+ game suspension. But Artest has a history of this

by the way, are you a doctor on the Thunder medical staff? How can you reasonably say that he's not injured or that OKC played it safe?[/quote]

No, I'm not a doctor. But I trust the Laker training staff to be professional and give an honest assessment of whether a player can play or not. They said he could, ergo my opinion that OKC just wanted to play it safe. And Ron won a citizenship award a few years ago, he's obviously changed since then. http://newsone.com/1194125/ron-artest-w ... hip-award/ You have to look at the whole picture when looking at a player's character. When's the last game he got suspended or even ejected?

How many games Melo got for that punch on the Knicks and Nuggets brawl a few years back?

I'd say Artest gets at least that and then some.

Regardless of how you interpet it, Ron's gonna get a decent suspension... As an Artest fan, I'm disappointed, but as a Spurs fan I'm sitting back and moving on....

A banning or entire playoffs is ridiculous, get a grip people

Artest's thuggish clotheslining of JJ Barea happened 1 year ago.

Artest clearly just threw his elbow at him because he was having a bipolar Artest moment. That doesn't mean it's unintentional -- IT JUST MEANS ARTEST IS CRAZY. I don't see how people can't understand this easy concept.

He wound up the elbow. Like, he wound it up to hit him. Just look at the replay. It wasn't part of his celebration. It was crazy Artest reflexively trying to kill someone (because he is crazy).

I say lifetime ban. I'm sick of people getting major injuries due to stupid **** like "World Peace"

Do you have any idea how bad concussions can be? I feel like a broken record, but Artest seriously injured someone because he can't control himself. He shouldnt' be allow to play in the playoffs.

Obviously the elbow was intentional. If he's going to deny anything, he should deny that he tried to hit harden in the head. It look like he was try to deliver the elbow into Harden's shoulder, but as Harden slid into him, his shoulder went under Ron's arm, which caused Ron's elbow to swing upwards.

Clearly stupid and intentional by Artest, but I'm curious why Harden ran into him.

That was somewhat premeditated. He knew someone from OKC was there, but I doubt he knew he elbowed Hayden. LOL.

To you and those who think like you, think through what you're saying:

You're asserting the fact that because something happened 8 years ago makes it no longer relevant.

However, the fact that he acts like this now basically means he's still the same hair trigger guy from 8 years ago despite years of therapy and punishments.

Stern should be looking at every punishment he gives and say: What am I accomplishing?

In the case of Artest, why would anyone think a temporary punishment will keep him from doing this again? If the punishment doesn't curtail the behavior, only two logical options make sense: 1) Ban the player, or 2) Accept the behavior.

Hopefully it's obvious to everyone that the behavior can't be accepted, so Stern needs to at the very least strongly consider the ban.

How is that laughable? Artest is clearly still a danger to himself and others on the court. If he can't control his emotions and stop these kinds of outbursts, then he doesn't belong in the NBA, period.
