Yeah, regardless of how it may be view judicially or by the league, from a human standpoint / realistic perspective it was a piece of **** move by MWP. Players just don't do that. Even if someone like Durant would done the exact same thing (which he wouldn't have) it would have still been incredibly messed up.

That's what I'm talking about. It's ignorance like this that has me so peeved.

I'm assuming you misread my post. Even if you take MWP's past out of the equation, his action today was completely unacceptable and I even went on to point out that if Durant would have done the same thing, I would have felt the exact same way.

Right. You still totally missed my point. Regardless, this is too silly to get into.

No, I didn't miss your point. I think your point is crap! Yes, you're not supposed to hit people in the face. We get that. You're no Kant, you're not blowing any minds here. This isn't about Artest's past. If Durant had been the one to do it and you said the same twattle I'd give you the same response with some different names.

Which is, as I stated, "completely baseless and unfair".

may be unfair, but thats life. sometimes it only takes one stupid mistake.

its not much worse than what bynum did to wallace and barea and nobody is talking about that now. its artest, so it will take longer for the media to move on. and leading into the playoffs it will get more attention than normal.

Not any more unfair than Harden standing their minding his own business and getting his head knocked off by a UFC move.

Uhh, you get to decide how you judge him. Don't put this on the "other", on some "fate" or "life" you're not in control of.

It's much less worse than what Bynum did to barea, which was clearly a frustration foul intended to cause pain.

This **** dude... He finally had got into great shape and was playing like the Ron Artest of old, but he has to **** everything up with an unnecessary elbow. It looks bad as hell and I even wouldn't be surprised if he was disqualified from the rest of the season. I hope he doesn't ruin one of Kobe's last chances at a ring. When will this nucleus ever have a better chance than during an "everything can happen" lockout season!?

On the bright side though, too bad that Stephen Jackson and a cup of beer weren't involved somehow. This could have been fun.

Captaincrunk, there seems to be a couple things that you are overlooking.
1. The so-called celebration was Metta jumping up and down beating his chest. He was not swinging his elbows from side to side.
2. James was not behind Metta. They collided almost face to face before the elbow was thrown, so even if he did not see James he had to feel the collision.
3. Metta drew his elbow back, swung, and followed through. He was obviously trying to hit whoever collided with him.
4. His elbow hit James's skull. That tends to sting a little bit. Yet he played clueless like he had know idea what had happened. Really?

Uhh, obviously not overlooking since that's what we've been talking about this whole time. And how it turns out that he could have done it anyway.

Just... no...

Look, you're just repeating the same old ****. Don't bother saying the same things everyone else has said and been debunked on because it's a waste of everyone's time. Much like this entire conversation.

Given how brutal the elbow was, and the fact that Ron Artest is not a scumbag.... I find it hard to believe that he did it on purpose- hes smarter than that. That stated, the tape makes it pretty hard to deny that it was anything but on purpose...

The thing with Artest is that I think he really honestly thought that if he did it in the context of "celebrating" that people would actually think it was an accident. It's like he doesn't know cameras exist and replay exists. We can see you Ron. We can see what you're doing and just because you pound your chest doesn't make your actions not pre-meditated and malicious with intent to hurt someone else. We're not stupid, and you really can't fool millions of people watching a replay.

It's like he's 5 years old in his thought process. It's uncanny...
