DeRozan: says he tries to be a 'team guy' but acknowledges that he needs to be more of a leader and can/will be more of a leader
Another big summer... Hopefully now without the lock out someone within the organization gets him doing the right things.
Those pick up games last summer did nothing for his game.
I can't fault DeMar for playing The Game all summer. He obviously loves The Game, and thinks about The Game all the time. How cold you not, just look at him.

Hey just a joke Highness, DeMar turned it around, is a good scorer, a good guy, and someone I hope is with this team for a long time.

Sad state of the franchise when player interviews are done before the final game is played.

Excellent tactic to enter the game into tank mode.

Cheese and Crackers J-roc. You do realize this is more a reflection of the shortened season due to the lockout and other bookings at the ACC rather than a reflection of a lost season right? Sometimes it's like if the canteen was out of diet Pepsi, you'd write about another failing of the Colangelo Era.

They could do the interviews somewhere else if that was really an issue. I mean, they found a way to book all the dates for games, and they could use the practice gym.

Come on dude, does it really matter to you that much that they did these interviews today rather than tomorrow? Does it really make a difference with anything?
If you want to talk about the "state of the franchise" there's a hell of a lot more important topics to discuss than this ****.

You sure have, Bayless. To your own detriment.

What? How can someone be proud of playing well as a starter?
LOL. You guys kill me.
As an extreme hypothetical, if MJ was forced to come off the bench and he sucked, would that make his GOAT status as as a starter irrelevant? Should he not be proud of the way he played as a starter just cuz he sucked as a bench player?

Yeah, it sends a message that the players aren't being judged based on how well they play (don't play) tonight. It's like school classes after exams and report cards are all done.

Should we read into Amir Johnson not being selected to speak with the media?

I'm not saying he should not be proud of how he plays as a starter. The problem is that he's proud of the fact that he only plays well when he starts, as if that would validate him as a starter.
If you only play "well" as a starter, something's not right.
It's not like he's a diesel who needs to warm up either, he's instantly better when he starts. That's someone who doesn't accept a reserve role and deals with it the wrong way.

I'd say no. But then again there's been a lot of discussion surrounding Ed Davis lately so who knows? I have a feeling Amir's time in Toronto is near finished though

I actually get the feeling Ed is done. There's something up with the way the team has recently started to talk up Ed when he was rarely discussed all season and wasn't given the freedom (mins) of some of the other guys.

Yeah, it could go either way. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

What is this crap? Bayless is statistically ahead of Calderon in PER, APER, winshare/48. He destroys Calderon in the "simple rating" (combination of plus/minus and production/opponent's production) stat at 82games.com
Bayless should be proud. And he should be our starting PG, unless we get someone better.

LOL Ed let out an uncensored "a$$ hole" at about the 10 minute mark of the interview, when talking about being tough on the court for no reason.
