It's a bummer that Rose went down. NY lost Shumpert as well. I'm with those blaming the way they set up the season.

with Lin and Shumpert it would've been a far more intriguing series. As for Philly/Chi, it doesn't even matter if Chicago wins anymore, the next series is probably a giveaway. From a selfish standpoint, I wouldn't mind if Chicago still smashes the sixers, then they might finally realize they have to shake up the roster and the Wolves might be able to make a play

Brand's contract is still a pretty big roadblock for any rebuilding attempt.

Brand's contract expires next year, so maybe not that big of a road block.

they dont have to rebuild necessarily, but a shakeup has to get some thought. They've maxed out as a low seed first round bye with this group.

Another journalist making a messed up article.

http://www.sportsgrid.com/media/mushnick-nets-racist/

As long as the Nets are allowing Jay-Z to call their marketing shots — what a shock that he chose black and white as the new team colors to stress, as the Nets explained, their new “urban” home — why not have him apply the full Jay-Z treatment?

Why the Brooklyn Nets when they can be the New York N——s? The cheerleaders could be the Brooklyn B—-hes or Hoes. Team logo? A 9 mm with hollow-tip shell casings strewn beneath. Wanna be Jay-Z hip? Then go all the way!

“I guess I won’t need my color TV anymore now that the Nets will be wearing black and white,’’ writes reader John Lynch.

I can't believe Shumpert got a 1st place vote, and Josh Selby got a 3rd place vote for ROY...

Wow. That article says a lot more about the author than it does about the Nets of Jay-Z.

Monty Williams indicated the Hornets need to add size during the offseason.

New Orleans is slotted fourth and tenth in the upcoming draft lottery.

“I could foresee us drafting a big, but there are a couple of guards in this draft that are pretty good with a high upside,” Williams said Sunday. “It’s one of those situations where the pick will dictate all of that, and (General Manager) Dell (Demps) may have a situation where he may want to trade the pick to get a veteran player. We’re still not sure. We’ve got to find out where we’re going to draft.”

The guys over on Rube Chat are discussing a Pekovic/Gordon swap. I could definitely see the Hornets considering that offer. They are in line to add two quality perimeter players with their top 10 picks, which could make it easier for them to part ways with Gordon.

Normally, I would say no to trading a big for a small, especially when we really have no one behind Pekovic, but I might be inclined to take this one. I think Pekovic's value is on a definite high, while I'm not sure if Gordon's value can get much lower.

So the preseason trade with OKC was Hayward for 2012 #58 and OKC's unprotected 2013 2nd, which will be around the same range.

Trade winner? Lazar Hayward.

I don't think the Hornets would consider that. Pekovic is not the big the would target, they want size and that means a long, athletic freak or a true seven footer, Pek is nothing of that.

They still have Okafor, who is a strong interior player in the same mold as Pekovic, from a pure physical standpoint. They have Landry for scoring and low post playing. I think they will try to get someone like Javale McGee or Dalembert, someone with length and who plays good help defense.

Eric Gordon would be amazing in our team, let's give him a max deal and hope the Hornets don't match, and we keep Pekovic

Oops, the Wizards are bringing back Whitman for next year (last year of his current contract). Any way this ends well for them? I guess I didn't pay attention to them the last half of the season, was he any better for them then the wolves?

So what happens to the big 3?

My guesses

Garnett: Bulls or Rockets
Allen: Clippers or Bulls
Pierce: Celtics

The day they announced him as head coach I told the fans to watch out. They are doomed.

I think KG and Pierce stay and Ray Ray goes to another contender.

I think it's safe to assume that KG will stay in Boston or retire. There has to be someone massively overpaying him that he will consider signing with another team and even then I wouldn't be surprised if he said no. He has earned almost 300 million dollars during his career. I don't think money is that much of a factor. It would be smart for him to see what Ainge will do over the summer before KG will resign.

KG will stay in Boston, that's just who he is.
