I am with Coldfish and Duck on this one. Trading Deng, for the Bulls, appears to be all about shedding salary. At least it is the primary motivation. They might get a lottery pick back, but they know, and people who look at draft history know, that such picks rarely pan out. There is just tremendous risk. The people who think otherwise have a bad case of draft fever. Happens every year. Very serious condition, but only fatal if you succumb to its urges.
For the people who are interested in the Bulls winning a championship, the Bulls' failure to find a deal for Deng is the best outcome, if it forces management to admit that Boozer has to go. Now if the Bulls sacrifice Asik or Gibson because management does not want to concede that it made a mistake in signing Boozer, then that is really something to be upset about.
