Martin's played for Adelman in both Sacramento and Houston. So they know each other pretty well, and if Adelman didn't at least think he'd fit in well, there would be no rumors of this deal. It would've been squashed long ago. Martin is going to be in the last year of his contract, too. For the 18th pick, I think it's good value.
Chris Singleton, Eric Bledsoe, Ty Lawson, Javale McGee, Marco Belinelli, Oleksiy Pecherov, Gerald Green, JR Smith, and David West were each selected with the 18th overall pick since 2003. This has nothing to do with anything, but I like having this information.
I live in Sacramento, and I always thought Martin was overrated because everyone expected him to be the franchise player. He's not. I think he's a third best player/6th man. After he averaged around 25 one year, he became way overrated. But on a team with Rubio and Love, I think he could just come in and do what he does best: score. And we need it.
One last thing: I used to play basketball with his brother at our local 24 Hour Fitness, and his brother was a complete ****.
