Might as well. We need a defensive SF if we get Martin because his D is going to be horrid. Would be a dream if we could move Williams for MKG.

Do this trade and sign Roy. Problem solved.

We still need to address the SF position IMO unless Williams has somehow transformed into a SF in one off-season.

I am down for a trade of our 18th pick and scraps for Kevin Martin.Ya he doesn't have the best contract but is a big upgrade at the SG spot and a legit score in the league.Plus if things don't work out isn't he on the last year of his contract,if so we could trade him at mid season or just let him walk next off season and use that cap room to sign someone else.

So theirs looks like their a chance that the Wolves could land both Martin and Roy which would be huge upgrades for this team. You throw those two in the mix with Love,Rubio and Peckovic and were a playoff team and depending on what upgrade we make at the SF spot I think we could be a legit threat out west and one of the top four teams in the west.

Id be okay with it, not sure why Houston would want 3 mid 1st rounders.

Hope we can include some guys like wayne/darko to save a little money...then go hard for batum.

That's what I get for browsing on my phone.

It does say "presumably" the 18th, makes me wonder if the 18 is even involved...or maybe its just Miller/Webster and then Houston could just get straight cap for Martin?

18th will definitely be involved. They'll move Lowry + one of the later picks for 5th pick (Kings) and use that to select Drummond, whether they decide to keep him or move him in a possible Dwight deal that's been rumored along with the remaining picks. They want to make a run at Deron Williams too I think.

Most likely. I'm okay with trading the 18 for K-mart. At 18 its probably going to be PF's or a reach on a wing...so we should just get a sure-fire 18-20PPG scorer who knows the system and is a vet.

18 + Wayne + Darko for K-mart would be nice by me. We wouldn't lose much capspace($2-$3m) and we get a good veteran.

I just really don't like Kevin Martin. Never have, never will. I'm not sure if his decline last year was due to friction with McHale or the new rules about bail-out fouls (ripping through a defender's arm, which used to be his bread and butter) or both, but even he hadn't declined last year I wouldn't want him. Just don't like him as a player.

Understandable. He's at least a pretty great shooter, and he can move without the ball with the best of them. I think playing with Adelman again, while also playing with Love/Rubio/Pek to draw more attention would help him a lot.

Martin's played for Adelman in both Sacramento and Houston. So they know each other pretty well, and if Adelman didn't at least think he'd fit in well, there would be no rumors of this deal. It would've been squashed long ago. Martin is going to be in the last year of his contract, too. For the 18th pick, I think it's good value.

Chris Singleton, Eric Bledsoe, Ty Lawson, Javale McGee, Marco Belinelli, Oleksiy Pecherov, Gerald Green, JR Smith, and David West were each selected with the 18th overall pick since 2003. This has nothing to do with anything, but I like having this information.

I live in Sacramento, and I always thought Martin was overrated because everyone expected him to be the franchise player. He's not. I think he's a third best player/6th man. After he averaged around 25 one year, he became way overrated. But on a team with Rubio and Love, I think he could just come in and do what he does best: score. And we need it.

One last thing: I used to play basketball with his brother at our local 24 Hour Fitness, and his brother was a complete ****.

I'm starting to wonder if the pick isn't involved too. Martin to Min rumours have been around for a while and, honestly, after the season he just had it's not like he's worth a 1st rounder. Unless Houston is taking back some salary, like Darko or Johnson, it seems like an overpay IMO.

That said, I wouldn't be all that upset with this. Martin played well for Adelman, has a skillset that meshes with the Love/Rubio/Pek trio and is an expiring contract. Not to mention he has a lot of years under Adelman and with his system.

Eh. On second thought, Morey probably doesn't want to trade with us after we dumped Flynn onto him.

I think the front office will do this and move Wesley to SF full time and hope he turns into a defensive SF. Beasley will be let go and they will try to fill other holes in FA.

I like it. I'm sick of having to watch mediocre rookies develop. I'd be fine with trading the pick for a vet of Martin's quality.

This would set the Wolves back 2-3 years ... SAC "got" rid of him. Houston "wants" to get rid of him. Martin to MN would signal Kahn's failure to make a productive move with a legit FA. The Martin/Adelman connection is a mere front-line to the never ending rumor that Martin would have a fit in MN. It tells me the media has struggled to rustle up any "new" rumors.

Now if Martin was merely stop-gap and in combination with a legitimate move, then I could live with it for half a season or so ... but if he's viewed as a solution then its times to jump.
