Bobcats need to, and probably will stay in the top 4 even if they do trade doen. Quality trumpts Quantity in the NBA, and they can get both quality, and quantity if they trade the 2 for 4 and 24 from Cleveland.

NBA is all about quality over quantity one thomas robinson is worth 10 quincy millers....it would be different if we had a early first and a few middle rounders but to trade a early first for a bunch of mid rounders is just bad bad team management

Word.
Apparently, Houston offered the Kings the 14 + 16 for the 5 and Tyreke. If Sacramento does that, they are much dumber than I thought.
Who I woulda took:
2023: Miller | 2022: Duren | 2021: Bouknight, Jones | 2020: Ball | 2019: PJ | 2018: MPJ | 2017: Monk | 2016: Damian Jones | 2015: Winslow | 2014: Vonleh, Napier | 2013: McLemore | 2012: MKG | 2011: Knight, Kawhi

This is where I disagree, this is where you put the scouting database to the test...again I'm going to ask are we sure that Robinson at 4 is better than Sullinger at 18 or Meyers Leonard at 14 ? or Barnes better at 2 or 4 is better than Harkless or PJII at 14 or 16. Hell we could even pick up Kendall Marshall....the idea here is to use Cho's scouting database to fill need positions for talent on this roster and develop it together.

Word that Houston is offer Sac #14, #16 and Lowery for Tyreke Evans and #5. This per DX. Says the offer is now up to Sac to accept or refuse.

Houston has an interesting case here for multiple trades. There have been rumors of 14+16+Dalembert for #5. Apparently Sactown wants Cousins at 4 and feels comfortable with Dalembert from his past with them. They may also feel they could get solid return on 14 and 16 in this draft.
Houston could the turn around and trade Lowry + 18 to Toronto for 8. This leaves Houston with #5 and #8 plus some interesting pieces like Courtney Lee and Kevin Martin. They could put a package for Dwight together of 5+8+Martin for Howard. For Houston they could then resign Goran Dragic, have Lee at 2guard, Parsons at SF, Scola at PF and Howard at C. They could even have money to sign Williams this offseason as well, in this kind of scenario. Bottom line though, even if it is Dragic/Lee/Parsons/Scola/Howard with cap room to sign depth. That is a better team than the one Howard is on now in Orlando.
For Orlando I'm not sure they will find much better of an offer than two top 10 picks and a productive player on an expiring deal. Houston will be interesting to watch for sure.

That's your answer. Why should you assume DraftExpress would have that wrong?!

One really good player is better than two pretty good players.
In the NBA, four quarters does not equal a dollar bill

Hey Guys - I am listening to Cleveland Radio and its being "reported" that the Cats would also be comfortable with 2 for 4 and both our 2nds - which i believe are 33 and 34.....probably just speculation.

Yep but if there are no really good players two pretty good players is better than one pretty good player. If we are thinking Robinson then trade back and pick up a backup big later and other talent. That way we get more than just one bench player out of the draft.

I get what you're saying, I'm just not sure there's a real talent difference from 2-20 in this draft....

Not going to kill the messenger. I know the Cavs want that deal, but cannot see Charlotte doing it. #4 and #24 is the minimum. I am sure that Charlotte wants #4 , #24 AND to pawn off a contract like Carroll, but would also take #4, #24 and #33. If they go with the #4 and #33 and #34, I would feel the FO caved. They can do better.

I do not want 3 2nd round picks. That's not the depth we need.

2 2nd round picks shouldn't be enough to move from 4 to 2. we need the 24 at the bare minimum for anything to be in it for us.

I'd do #2 for #4, #33 and #34................but only if Tyrus was going out with the #2 as well.

If that's the best offer from Cleveland I'd rather trade with Washington and get their #32 pick as compensation. The Wiz get Beal, we get Robinson, and 2 quality role players on 2nd round contracts.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Damn Doc, read will you. I did not say DX was wrong. What I said was it is not a "clear" decision on whether he is a SF or a PF when you have different respected organizations calling him for 2 different positions. I am simply saying there is an argument for both sides.

we'd have to give up 31 there, which is fine...

As long as we are getting those second round picks with the intention of trading into the top 25. To think that a guy of Quincy Miller's caliber could be had at #25 makes me pretty excited.
