I just assumed that everyone was right about Nash being bad on D, but I went to 82games.com and found that Nash is not bad on D statistically. The following are his opponent's PER the two seasons.

11-12 - 13.6
10-11 - 13.7

That isn't bad in any way, especially considering that the Suns don't play at a slow pace by any means.

Nash is no worse than what we've gotten for the past 15 years or so from our PG's. His defense is the least of my concerns, and he's actually pretty good at drawing charges.

Nash is one of the best play-makers this league has ever seen. He's right up there with Magic Johnson, and in terms of running an offense you could debate that he's just as good (although I'd always go with Magic because I'm a homer). The reality is that he's still one of the best offensive players in the league and has a huge impact even though he's approaching 40.

I can't believe anyone would compare Nash to Blake. Blake does next to nothing on offense. He brings the ball up the floor, passes it off to whoever is closest to him, then runs to the opposite corner to wait for a spot-up 3 (which he misses more times than not). He's got slightly better play-making skills than Bynum.

Now don't get me wrong I am a little concerned with our chemistry overall, but that's been a concern of mine for several seasons now. I've never bought into the Gasol/Bynum FC (especially since we lack shooters/cutters), so I believe that that's where the true problem lies and not necessarily with Nash.

Nash's D is no worse than Sessions or Fisher. There is no change on that end. The only change he brings to the Lakers is offensive upside. This is a homerun deal.

You could double Kobe then. You do now and its guaranteed you will pay.

Now we need Dwight.

Nash is a capable and willing team defender. Will he get torched by Westbrook? Yeah, but who were the Lakers going to get that doesn't get torched by him?

Yeah I watched that earlier, it was amazing the stupidity that was on display. I've seen Rob Parker say some stupid things, but nothing like what he was saying today.

Nash confirming Kobe recruited him on ESPN Radio 710. Mitch called Nash's agent July 1 to try and set it up, Kobe called Nash up during his basketball camp in Santa Barbara to talk and put the bow tie on top.

Nash says the reason why his minutes were limited in Phoenix was because he was the primary ball handler and that the offense ran throughout him so much. He doesn't see minutes being an issue in LA.

Nash is basically going to be our offensive coordinator this coming season. Much like a role CP3 plays with the Clippers.

Nash is extremely smart...Didn't bite when they asked him what he would tell Dwight if he called him to play for LA...How can a teammate answer that without sending the wrong message to Drew. Nash is savy...

Steve shied away from the question of whether or not he'd recruit Howard, but he definitely didn't say he wouldn't. He instead opted to give praise to Bynum/Gasol and said he'd rather sign his contract first before getting involved in the recruitment of players.

That's pretty much all of the interview that was played on ESPN.

Nash would certainly recruit Dwight behind closed doors. Problem is if Nash had said "Yes, I would love to play with Dwight." Then the trade never goes through and the relationship between Bynum and he begins on a salty note...

nash is just super smart and humble and having him on this team, regardless of what he does on the court (where i expect very good things) is gonna be awesome

Oh I know he would, if he's willing to recruit Hill there's really no reason as to why he wouldn't want to recruit Howard. I just found it fascinating how he was able to answer every question politically correct on a whim like that. True consummate professional.

He's usually much smarter than the people asking him questions, he won't get baited by the media.

Just going up online and via SportsCenter: Sources tell ESPN that Raptors are on verge of acquiring Rockets guard Kyle Lowry via trade

What's a Lowry? I don't even know what that is.

Lakers get Nash (DEEP/Destro diva fest)

There is a downside to Nash

With all the open looks he's going to get everyone, we will see 3 times as many MWP wide open 3 point bricks as last year

Return to Los Angeles Lakers
