I swear, some people refuse to put faith into this team no matter what they do to give them the proof that they shouldn't be worried.
This. To the comment above about Terry--there was no way we could afford him. Money was the main reason he was leaving Dallas, we clearly weren't going to offer him more. The dude has always been about getting paid his entire career.
Secondly, it's not like Riley is just sitting outside RayRay's window whispering sweet nothings all day. The dude literally has nothing else to do right now but work on free agents. Literally nothing. Summer camp is far away, Summer League is far away, his players are all off, he's got nothing to do. Expressing interest and negotiating with other FA's, like Camby or Lewis, won't take more than an hour a day of his time since it'll all be over the phone at this point. You expect some news story to break that Riley contacted them? That Miami's interested?
People need to chill out thinking they're this great executive NBA mind or something. Our front office has proven,
quite convincingly, that we're not one of those inept front offices but are actually quite good at what they do. I expect them to perform as they always have until things change. Do people seriously think they're better at this/more in-the-know than the people who do this for a living on our team--the same people who have built two championship winning teams and pulled off deals none of us thought would happen? Just chill.
