Allen is signing with Heat. Remember we're you heard it first. Sides were finalizing deal after dinner

Dinner?? Was this from last night?

Yes

EDIT: They had dinner last night if that's what you're asking

No, I got that they had dinner last night .. seemed odd that he didn't say Lunch, which would mean something was happening now. If the deal was being finalized last night, wouldn't that live tweeter have photographs of that? Seriously though, seems very fishy.

If they were finalizing a deal last night at dinner something would've broke last night or this AM. And I'm sure one of Bucher - Stein - Aldridge - Woj would've reported it, not some dude with 225 followers.

This is what im hoping for. i hope once we get Ray, the rest of the dominos start to fall too. Pat could have been working a deal with Camby or another big all this time under the radar.

That article is a load of crap. The "source" seems to be another article titled "Why Miami Heat Have No Chance of Signing Chris Kaman". Yeah, go figure!

I'd be very happy if Riley did the impossible and convinced Kaman to play for the Vet Minimum

We wanted Jason Terry but Ray Allen c-blocked us and Boston got him... now it looks like they got both.

When are we going to hear about Mike Miller's surgery?

My tennis coach had the same injury he had. A bulging disc out of his back. It was low-grade severity, so he did not need surgery. However, it greatly inhibited his movement. He could not walk around with flexibility at all and he hurt. It lasted him one to two months, even now he is sort of still walking it off since his disc just got back into place. It happened in February.

If that is how bad a bulging disc is that didn't require surgery, God, I don't want to think about Miller. He probably made it worse by not sitting out and hobbling/falling all over the place when he crashed the boards.

Not to mention, other parts of his body probably hurt.

Jason Terry wanted the MLE...Miami doesn't have the MLE. That's why he was never coming here.

@SedanoShow

At last nights dinner were Ray Allen's agent Jim Tanner & 2 more associates. So, it's fairly safe to conclude offer was discussed/presented

By that logic, we have no shot at Ray Allen since Boston is offering him 6 mil a year and we have the mini-MLE of 3 mil a year.

So yeah, we wanted jason terry but ray allen c-blocked us and now boston might get both.

This. To the comment above about Terry--there was no way we could afford him. Money was the main reason he was leaving Dallas, we clearly weren't going to offer him more. The dude has always been about getting paid his entire career.

Secondly, it's not like Riley is just sitting outside RayRay's window whispering sweet nothings all day. The dude literally has nothing else to do right now but work on free agents. Literally nothing. Summer camp is far away, Summer League is far away, his players are all off, he's got nothing to do. Expressing interest and negotiating with other FA's, like Camby or Lewis, won't take more than an hour a day of his time since it'll all be over the phone at this point. You expect some news story to break that Riley contacted them? That Miami's interested?

People need to chill out thinking they're this great executive NBA mind or something. Our front office has proven, quite convincingly, that we're not one of those inept front offices but are actually quite good at what they do. I expect them to perform as they always have until things change. Do people seriously think they're better at this/more in-the-know than the people who do this for a living on our team--the same people who have built two championship winning teams and pulled off deals none of us thought would happen? Just chill.

Wow, you have some terrible logic. Allen isn't blocking us from anyone. You can't block us from someone we never had a chance at to begin with. Terry wasn't taking a pay cut to play here like Allen could possibly decide to do.

Do you seriously believe Pat Riley is infallible? Incapable of mistakes? I defend Pat Riley, I love the man, always have, always will.

BUT... his strategy, is to "go all out" on 1 particular free agent and shower him with the proper amount of love and attention until he makes a decision. This is a good strategy. It works, and has worked before even as recently as last season (Battier).

here it comes again..... BUT........ this is a unique situation.

Ray Allen. Guy is a wild card. He could potentially be playing double agent, c-blocking us from getting FA's while at the same time using us as leverage to fix his issues in Boston..... so the Celtics can finally stomp us. THEY HATE US.

If we go "all in" on a wild card like this..... it could burn us very badly.

How do you know? We never even contacted Jason Terry because we were focused on Ray Allen. Jason Terry was interested in us, and he said "I'm still waiting for Miami to call me"

You don't know what he would have done.

You believe Ray Allen will pass up money to play with us, why not Jason Terry? We are the defending world champs.
