Machado is probably better than Felton right now

Seriously I've heard five times more about Machado than the Euro trash guy we drafted. I can't even spell his name cos I haven't seen it since the draft.

Well then you can't blame the Knicks for feeling a bit betrayed and not throwing millions of dollars out to sign him, when they [apparently] weren't able to negotiate on their own. If Lin wanted to get his money and be in NY, he'd have made an effort to do so. Not gone out and get as much money as he could, get upset it's not as much as he wanted, settle, find out he can get more and sign more.... And people expect the Knicks to simply unquestionably follow this kid around like he's Lebron matching anything anyone throws at him... because... you think he's going to be some prodigy that'll lead this team to a ring? Come on now...
It'd be a lot more fun if Lin is on this team come tomorrow... But I'm not going to sit here and act like our championship aspirations are dashed bc Jermey Lin is no longer on the team, and were stuck with Jason Kidd (who incidentally won a 2 years ago) and Felton. Just more exaggeration.
The guy has tiptoed around, and from what i've gathered, come off like he doesn't want to be here any more than the Rockets.. Why would I want someone like that here? Then again, I don't think he's going to be a "very good PG" so i'm a little bias.

Yup. They are definitely having high level meetings right now so not a lot will be leaked.
what the point of any meeting?
surely they calculated these scenarios as they went into FA? and if they didnt do that, then just poor planning
How can you calculate unplanned variables? It's not like they are Nasa scientists in there. These are regular people.

cuz it isn't some crazy variable that came out of nowhere, everyone was expecting a backloaded contract.

He's worse. But it's not some huge gap.

There was an EXTREMELY high possibility of Lin getting a backloaded deal.
Al Iannazzone: Jeremy Lin deadline approaches; Raymond Felton officially a Knick: Jeremy Lin could be a former Knick by midnight. http://bit.ly/O4Nfy7 #nba about 15 minutes ago
[Alex Kennedy] Alex Kennedy: New York has until 11:59 pm on Tuesday to match Jeremy Lin's offer with Houston. Knicks will likely wait until last minute before deciding. about 15 minutes ago
Lang Greene: Just talked with a Toronto Raptors team official who was adamant Landry Fields was a guy the team targeted in free agency from the start about 25 minutes ago

Yeah they were fully prepared for this. Couldn't Houston have offered an even bigger contract too?

To be completely honest, I'd be fine (maybe even happy) if Lin did that to us. Serves us right if we end up letting him walk.
