Machado is probably better than Felton right now :D

Seriously I've heard five times more about Machado than the Euro trash guy we drafted. I can't even spell his name cos I haven't seen it since the draft.

we traded the guy we drafted...
There's something about an underdog that really inspires the unexceptional.

Knicker23 wrote:I don't know why people perceive Lin to be the good guy in all of this, or Dolan as the sole bad guy for not matching this. If Lin wanted to be back, he'd have worked something out over 4 years that's more reasonable, with the Knicks. Why is this being ignored and supplemented with excuses like "they told him to get his value" and "can't blame him for getting his money" ...

Well then you can't blame the Knicks for feeling a bit betrayed and not throwing millions of dollars out to sign him, when they [apparently] weren't able to negotiate on their own. If Lin wanted to get his money and be in NY, he'd have made an effort to do so. Not gone out and get as much money as he could, get upset it's not as much as he wanted, settle, find out he can get more and sign more.... And people expect the Knicks to simply unquestionably follow this kid around like he's Lebron matching anything anyone throws at him... because... you think he's going to be some prodigy that'll lead this team to a ring? Come on now...

It'd be a lot more fun if Lin is on this team come tomorrow... But I'm not going to sit here and act like our championship aspirations are dashed bc Jermey Lin is no longer on the team, and were stuck with Jason Kidd (who incidentally won a 2 years ago) and Felton. Just more exaggeration.

The guy has tiptoed around, and from what i've gathered, come off like he doesn't want to be here any more than the Rockets.. Why would I want someone like that here? Then again, I don't think he's going to be a "very good PG" so i'm a little bias.

I personally think both sides are at fault here. If we wanted Lin to be in NY, we should have made that clear. And it doesn't help when JR and Melo say what they did to the media. None of the moves the Knicks have made have made that very clear. Getting Felton looks like we are replacing Felton for Lin. And yes, if LIn was the one that renegotiated that contract with the Rockets, he was definitely wrong to do that. But it's not like we gave him an offer either. That said, Lin has not been infallible in this situation. I put the blame 50% on Lin, 50% on Knicks management until we learn otherwise by a credible source. In any case, I feel If Lin doesn't get matched it's clear there was a lack of communication involved from all parties.

what the point of any meeting?

surely they calculated these scenarios as they went into FA? and if they didnt do that, then just poor planning

How can you calculate unplanned variables? It's not like they are Nasa scientists in there. These are regular people.

cuz it isn't some crazy variable that came out of nowhere, everyone was expecting a backloaded contract.

There was an EXTREMELY high possibility of Lin getting a backloaded deal.

Yeah they were fully prepared for this. Couldn't Houston have offered an even bigger contract too?

Al Iannazzone: Jeremy Lin deadline approaches; Raymond Felton officially a Knick: Jeremy Lin could be a former Knick by midnight. http://bit.ly/O4Nfy7 #nba about 15 minutes ago

[Alex Kennedy] Alex Kennedy: New York has until 11:59 pm on Tuesday to match Jeremy Lin's offer with Houston. Knicks will likely wait until last minute before deciding. about 15 minutes ago

Lang Greene: Just talked with a Toronto Raptors team official who was adamant Landry Fields was a guy the team targeted in free agency from the start about 25 minutes ago

Yup. They could have offered 4 years, 40 million. 5 million each of the first two years and then 15 in the two back ones.

To be completely honest, I'd be fine (maybe even happy) if Lin did that to us. Serves us right if we end up letting him walk.

you have to be kidding me. get over to the rockets forum, then or at least get off the knicks boards. there are few people who like and value lin more than i do, but this crap needs to stop.

KnicksGod wrote:More slightly OT but I was thinking yesterday -- how much worse is Bill Walker than JR Smith really?

you need to get over your jr smith hatecrush. i don't like him either, but he's a hell of a lot better than bill walker and to say otherwise is just agenda-driven garbage.

who gives a ****. get over your petty, childish obsession with painting lin as "the villain" or "disloyal and selfish" and all of that bull****, like you wouldn't make making even dumber excuses for melo.

this is all seriously starting to piss me off. maybe it's just the upcoming deadline.
