get andrew bynum - get him to pull a david robinson (sorry conspiracy theorists) and fake an extended injury (or extend an actual injury - which he's likely to suffer given his history) tank the year and pair bynum up with shabazz muhammad - hope for an iguodala type of player to bite in free agency then boom contender in 2014

Or we can dump all are bad contracts, tank, get Shabazz and still sign Bynum & Ellis next summer.

Great in theory. But I'm telling you, for mid to small markets to land a superstar - you either have to trade for one or draft one. They are not coming on their own. Especially if there isn't already another superstar there.

Here is a thought. Have Henny ask the Knicks to MATCH Lin and we will trade JJ for him after January 15th.

And that's the truth.

i don't think any of the Bynum supporters are denying the risks. It's that we think it's worth it.
You got a 1/30 chance at a championship.
You have to take a few risks to get to there.

Remember when everyone thought taking Dwight over Emeka was a risk?

What. We have always been able to attract free agents.

Nah, the Lakers are just talking with the Magic for Dwight again. I don't think it's going to work out though.

Oh okay, thanks :)

I'm still banking on that Houston deal going through at some point.

Valid point.
But you know the NBA landscape have changed dramatically since then. It's all about superstars joining forces in big or splashy markets right now.

I don't condone it. I hate it.
But that's how it seems to be now.

http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2012/07/ ... ard-trade/
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The Los Angeles Lakers appear to be in the best position to deal for Dwight Howard.

According to Yahoo! Sports, the Lakers are meeting with Orlando Magic officials to discuss a trade that would bring the 26-year-old to Los Angeles.

It is believed the Lakers would offer center Andrew Bynum.

The parameters of the deal are reportedly agreed upon, but the deal appears to be contingent on Howard’s willingness to sign a contract extension with the Lakers.

What's the Speed Limit in Florida? Bynum may have a small problem w/ speeding tickets and driving recklessly on the So. Cal Highways.
I think one of the reasons Laker Management/ Players will trade him is b/c they think he will kill himself or someone else on the Highway.

I question this article. It says that parameters of the deal are reportedly agreed on, but I haven't seen that reported anywhere.

That's why I posted it. If it's an error it a massive one on CBS' part.

But it is starting to sound as if maybe Howard will settle for LA since Brooklyn is out of the pitcure.

Eh, if we're trading Dwight to La, we all know it's going to be Dwight and fillers for Bynum and fillers. And by fillers, I mean players that probably won't be on the team in 2 or 3 years anyways.

thx :)

yeah I saw those last night before I went to bed... it's so messed up... 2-3 years ago I would have never guessed Dwight to be the two-faced whiner he is today.
