I want to win a championship within the next 5 years. Which realistic trade gives us the best chance to do that?

get andrew bynum - get him to pull a david robinson (sorry conspiracy theorists) and fake an extended injury (or extend an actual injury - which he's likely to suffer given his history) tank the year and pair bynum up with shabazz muhammad - hope for an iguodala type of player to bite in free agency then boom contender in 2014

Or we can dump all are bad contracts, tank, get Shabazz and still sign Bynum & Ellis next summer.

Great in theory. But I'm telling you, for mid to small markets to land a superstar - you either have to trade for one or draft one. They are not coming on their own. Especially if there isn't already another superstar there.

BTW I liked the Sports Illustrated read about him. In that read you had the unbelievable upside he has as well as the unbelievable risk with his knees. Such a hard choice to make.

i don't think any of the Bynum supporters are denying the risks. It's that we think it's worth it.
You got a 1/30 chance at a championship.
You have to take a few risks to get to there.

But you know the NBA landscape have changed dramatically since then. It's all about superstars joining forces in big or splashy markets right now.

Eh, if we're trading Dwight to La, we all know it's going to be Dwight and fillers for Bynum and fillers. And by fillers, I mean players that probably won't be on the team in 2 or 3 years anyways.
