Long time Knicks fan. Recent browser on this board. No disrespect, but some of you need to get out more. The Knicks are finished because they won't resign Lin? He isn't Jordan. He was a half season wonder. He may turn out to be good. He may turn out to be the undrafted, d-league player that he was before linsanity. Regardless, no way he is worth 15 mil for one season.

that's not my issue... i don't think lin will even become elite. i think his absolute best case scenario is a solid starting PG. with that said, it doesn't make any sense to not match the deal and trade him later. he is an asset. letting him go for nothing is idiotic in my opinion.

i'm not capologist or expert on the new CBA... but unless matching severely hampers the knicks ability to make moves in the future, whether it be dumping amare or trading lin, then i don't see why he won't be matched other than it being a personal thing by dolan which is again, idiotic.

The team isn't finished at all. They'll make the playoffs again and might even contend to win a single series. That said, I hardly call this a team to be proud of. It's a team of misfits and me first guys. We have very few team players on the team. I'm not crying about Lin himself, I'm crying at what is another poor decision after a long series of poor decisions over the last decade plus. He's not worth 15 mill for one season but he is worth 5 a season for the next two seasons to find that out. This isn't about the money. This was an ego decision from an owner who has shown a clear lack of good judgement in running this franchise. You've been a long-time fan. Have you forgotten the pre-Melo/Amare decade already?
