Sigh... honestly, that's the thing that feels kind of raw to me about Jeremy. I totally get that he should try to get as much money as he can, but (maybe it's just the Asian cultural thing in me) but once you agree to something, you hold yourself to your word. Instead he (or his agent) decided to sign a better offer sheet. I know this may sound crazy to a lot of you but if I were in his position, I would have held the Rockets to the first offer sheet even if it meant taking a financial hit. That's just respect/honor and living by your word. It makes me sick we lost Lin but I've also soured on how he and his agent handled the whole thing.

I've been a fan of the Knicks for 20 something years and this is the first time though that I've really doubted what it means to be a fan. I know this team is far better than the teams of the early 2000's but I just find the nonsense that has been going on the last few years almost intolerable and this is kind of like the icing on the cake. I probably need some time and perspective but right now I'm kind of disgusted at both Lin and the Knicks (and the Rockets).

Well we'll never know how exactly negotiations went down, as it seems the Knicks are not going to comment on it. But we do know that they've already begun the smear campaign against him.

What is disgusting is that knicks fans have smoe vendetta and want lin to fail. For god sake, he saved your teams season last year. I don't understand why you hate someone that the owner refused to sign and was your savior last year

Frank Isola ‏@FisolaNYDN
The Rockets cut Jeremy Lin in December because he wasn't better than Kyle Lowry & Goran Dragic. Seven months later, he still ain't better

gl, they are going to need it.

Amare doesn't care and Melo will score points but can't lead a team to a title. No pressure on them, we all know they stink by now.

right.... because they've had so many training camps and seasons together... huh? wait what?

we know they stink based on playing under an incompetent coach in a lockout condensed season with no training camp and injuries across the board to key players and no legit pg on the roster? yea

Dolan listened to the lyrics of his own song.

first minute basically sums up his whole position.

first offer: 4/$28.8M (team option on final year)

Here is my thing though. We don't have to speculate about what "should" happen with STAT and Raymond. We've done this before. We know exactly how STAT benefits from Ray. The answer is not that much, since he had to do most of the scoring on his own.

If Ray did better in Portland, so be it. I hope he is effective here.

Of course we can speculate when Stat put up near MVP numbers that maybe, Felton was setting him up in the right position to isolate? Or maybe that Felton was getting Stat into a rhythm? I think Stat was the one player Lin had the smallest impact on throughout our line-up, top to bottom...so to speculate that Felton will be a better fit (For STAT, not the whole roster, let me stress that) isn't far fetched and considering the numbers of Felton's last season it seems pretty likely to me.

My fears are that Lin was a better scorer, far better isolation passer and really good at stealing the ball for a rookie...but the one place I feel confident is that Felton knows Amare's game. I think Felton will bode well for the stars but my fears are his effectiveness everywhere else.

I hope, as a fan base, we boo Jeremy Lin like never before. You all thought I had a hatred for LeBron James? Jeremy Lin is public enemy #1. Just gave my Lin jersey to my dog as a toy. I hope to god he falls flat on his face with the Rockets. 85% and sitting out during the playoffs? Go fk yourself china-man.

LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOO

What's so funny? I seriously hope to god that Jeremy Lin falls flat on his face. Overrated because he's Asian. That's the god's honest truth.

Agreed although I do think Lin can get better. Lowry and Dragic are both really good.

First offer was $7m per year; second offer was $8.3m per year.

Basically, when Lin went to sign the $7m/y deal, the Rockets said, "Say, Jeremy, would you like more money per year?"

Apparently Dolan was offended that Lin didn't say no.

Stefan Bondy: Linsanity was fun for eight or nine games. But in six months, he'll be a turnover machine on a last-place team in Houston. now

Who is this clown? What's the relevance of this quote? Is he implying that Lin might get cut again then? Oh wait a minute...Dragic and Lowry aren't even on the Rockets anymore. So what's the relevance of this quote other than being a hater??

Fair enough.

I don't want this to get misconstrued as me hating Raymond Felton for hating sake. I was happy we brought him back. Honest to God. I'm not thrilled he's replacing Lin, but I believe he can be effective.

I just feel Lin is the better PG, and this team needed someone in Lin's mold more than Felton's.

Time will tell. I'll root for him either way
