Sigh... honestly, that's the thing that feels kind of raw to me about Jeremy. I totally get that he should try to get as much money as he can, but (maybe it's just the Asian cultural thing in me) but once you agree to something, you hold yourself to your word. Instead he (or his agent) decided to sign a better offer sheet. I know this may sound crazy to a lot of you but if I were in his position, I would have held the Rockets to the first offer sheet even if it meant taking a financial hit. That's just respect/honor and living by your word. It makes me sick we lost Lin but I've also soured on how he and his agent handled the whole thing.
I've been a fan of the Knicks for 20 something years and this is the first time though that I've really doubted what it means to be a fan. I know this team is far better than the teams of the early 2000's but I just find the nonsense that has been going on the last few years almost intolerable and this is kind of like the icing on the cake. I probably need some time and perspective but right now I'm kind of disgusted at both Lin and the Knicks (and the Rockets).
Well we'll never know how exactly negotiations went down, as it seems the Knicks are not going to comment on it. But we do know that they've already begun the smear campaign against him.
