I liked getting Camby as he can still impact a game. But I supported Kidd as a backup and teacher for Lin, nothing more. But Felton? Ugh.

I'm not sure if Kidd really cares about anything but partying in the Hamptons now that he got his ring but he's still useful, too smart to not at least make an impact. He would have been ideal with a young, hungry PG willing to learn from him, but when I say hungry, I don't mean that kind of hungry.

The Felton trade makes zero sense except as a pathetic move by a pathetic man whose sole purpose was to spite Jeremy Lin. Does anyone really think Kurt Thomas is useful anymore?

Kidd and Camby are still useful role players. Will they be in a year or so though is another story. Even this year, good luck keeping them healthy for the playoffs. But it doesn't matter, this team is still lead by selfish idiots as it has been since the 90s. That Dolan cares more about JR Smith than Lin or any guy the organization has ever drafted is telling.

I appreciate what Lin did for us during Linsanity I wish him all the best, but enough crying over spilt milk. He is a Rocket now and if you're a Knick fan that should not matter. Knicks did'nt offer him a contract and Lin went back for more $$$ what's done is done. Winning cures everything, that should be our only concern.

Dolan surrounds himself with Yes men. He likes his players to suck up to him too. He is more interested in this than in fielding the best team.

Worst part is we're now in the same position Rockets have been for the past couple of years, hovering around the mid to late first round and staying even more mediocre than we were. But who cares, we've got Melo and Amare, right?

the worst thing was that Knicks got nothing out of letting Lin go, not even a draft pick .

I don't get it , they can persue Steve Nash for 12 mil a year but not Lin.

Now the knicks are very thin at point guard position with Fatty Felton and grandpa Kidd

LOL does anybody actually believes this when they say it? even his worst critics says he is a legit good NBA level player. If he was the only bright spot last season what does that say about the team as a whole?

 Wikipedia won't let you edit James Dolan's page. Definitely because people have been spamming the s*** out of it for the past 12 hours.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_L._Dolan

Here's a comparison to show you that they will let you edit other owners' pages:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mikhail_Prokhorov

EDIT:

They won't let you edit Lin or Melo's page either

Jeremy Lin is going to drop 40 points on the Knicks when they play against each other. Calling it.

Fran Fraschilla, who is terrific, said this about Melo/Lin: "Melo wouldn't work with him. Melo wouldn't work with Steve Nash." ‪#Selfish‬

The Knicks just let him walk...for nothing.

statcenter ‏@statcenter
(contd) a ceiling of being a star. NYK couldn't pay 3/$25M to find out? When he also brings in tons of off-court revenue?

statcenter ‏@statcenter
I'm not saying Lin was going to keep those avgs. But someone who can do that for 25 gms has a floor of being a lg-avg PG, and (contd)

statcenter ‏@statcenter
BTW, for ppl saying Lin didn't do it for a full yr: there aren't too many other active 23-year-old PG who did it for 30 gms either.

statcenter ‏@statcenter
As far as Lin's passing, it's about quality, not just quantity. 56% of his asts led to baskets at the rim. (Lg avg 40%, Felton 39%)

statcenter ‏@statcenter
As starter, Lin avgd 18 pts, 7.7 asts, 2 stls. Last PGs to beat those avgs for full season at < age 24: Russ, CP3, Baron, T Hardaway

This can't be underestimated. I saw some advanced stat about this where Lebron was one of the guys dead last in fg% on assists, with Paul Pierce being first)

This is an innate intangible that some players have and others simply don't.

I think there is a little bit racism in the whole ordeal. If not that, it is statistical bias. People still question Jeremy Lin because he was not a draft pick. He wasn't a draft pick because he wasn't recruited by a division I school. He wasn't recruited by a division I school because people simply didn't believe an Asian American can ball.

Yup, there were still several people on this board who kept going back to "he's just a flash in the pan D-leaguer!"

Even if he does regress to the mean, his statistical high point was ELITE, comparable to the likes of CP3, Isaiah Thomas, and Magic Johnson. Regressing to the mean would still mark him as an above average PG at the age of TWENTY THREE.

For a team with so few young assets and no real way to acquire more except to find another diamond in the rough (luck isn't gonna shine on us twice), I still can't believe we just let him go.

Raptor fan here,

I've heard some people make comments that Dolan's ego played a huge part in Lin not being back. I don't know the situation with Lin and Dolan so I wasn't sure what that meant. Can someone explain this to me?

No we can't really because it is unfathomable how the owner has consistently acted in bad faith. All we know is he holds huge grudges and will keep players because they are his pets and will let better players go.

I'm not sure if it's racism, but I do believe that Lin will never be a part of the NBA fraternity, that to some extent will always be underestimated as a basketball player, and many will look for him to fail. It's ironic, but the team that Linsanity was bestowed upon became one of his non-believers and is now part of the Jeremy Lin narrative.

James Dolan must be deeply mentally ill, to a clinical extent. No other explanation for this.

He is probably still taking instructions from Isiah. That's a sick person.
