This is what David Baumann messaged me on the 18th.

I sent Jameer's agent a text message about it. I was originally under the impression of 3/19.7M. I'll do my best to find out.

I just messaged him today, so hopefully I get something.

Yeah, I basically got the same thing from Robbins on a few DMs over the past week. Seems he thinks it's not accurate but can't report on it and call out Pincus without verifying again.

Also, what is up with Denton's lack of reporting on Magic related stuff?

Does he not report on the Magic during the off season?

undervalued? because he wants to be here? and that makes the contract ok?

The agent/or reporting FO source probably only wanted to include the garantueed money as part of the deal, aka, 2 years at 8mil + 8mil= 16 + 3.5mil only last year = 19.5-19.7mil garantueed. Denton is pretty much the spearhead of Magic side sources so it cant be far off, if not comletely true still.

OrlDave wrote:Regarding Jameer. I think the brass looked at the team and said, "Without Dwight, who is the face of our franchise next year?" The names for that honor are short... Nelson, JJ, Anderson, BBD. We drafted Nicolson and Anderson isn't going to thrive without Dwight so he was scratched off (and not resigned). JJ and BBD weren't even starters most of the year. So that leaves Jameer.

So they gave him a short, if rich contract. It's 3 years yes, but 2 years before it's an expiring contract and a trade asset. I don't think any of us actually believe we'll need the cap space before then right? So they overpaid a little so the team maintained some stability. That's my theory anyway.

Jameer is a perfect 6th man and well respected player and captain of the team... DO the bucks deal from earlier posts... TO recap, Udrih, Mbah a Moute, Ellis for Turk, JJ, Dudu

Rob Hennigan is just as indecisive as Dwight is.

Oh geez... People still bitching and moaning about jameer shaddup already. "oh noez our beloved Ryan" good riddance at least jameer has the sack to show up when it matters. Ryans an over paid pansy. I'll give 11 and 5 next year. Grab A damn Kleenex and get the **** over it already.

Denton works for the Orlando Magic. He doesn't break any stories that they don't want broken.

Anyone who thinks that Hennigan doesn't have a plan is crazy.

I think Ryan benefited from Dwight and the system much the same way Hedo did before he left us as a FA. Hedo got paid but was exposed in the process. I don't think Ryan is a scrub by any stretch, and I hope he does well, but I just don't see him as a critical loss to us and I don't see him doing as well in the future as he did last season. And I just can't stomach having his contract for four years!

Yeah, Hennigan is a joke. Trade Ryan for "cap flexibility" but give Nelson a raise?

IMO if anything it's a sign you guys are taking the ORL offer. No use paying Anderson when you have something like Nicholson, Terrence Jones, Patrick Patterson and Marcus Morris all on the roster

If we're trading Dwight, we need to get rid of him before the start of the season or we can kiss the Rockets deal goodbye. I don't like hearing this "wait until trade deadline" rumor because it re-opens the possibility of dealing with the stupid Nets. I would be okay with Bynum, but I don't see the point of delaying it for months unless we're keeping Dwight on the bench.

Ryan ain't nothing without D12... Jameer is the captain and He was the free agent we should've kept

Maybe letting walk in free agency is the best way to rebuild
