what goes around comes around

Post#1 » by Glen20 » Fri Aug 10, 2012 12:25 pm

I won't lie. I'm scared and slightly jealous.
The Lakers managed to pull off what Miami pulled off in 2010. Build a championship level team in a couple of weeks.
I also feel a stronger hatred for that organization than i ever have before, and i realize it's because im jealous and worried.
This also made me realize what other fans felt when the decision happened, so i guess i'll be less critical of the 'haters' because i have become one myself.

Here's to Nash slowing down, to Kobe's ego taking over, and to Dwight's back buckling under pressure :-D

Oh please.

No need to be jealous. We have the best player in the world on our team. And can you honestly say that you would trade the Lakers team for this Heat team right now?

Hell no. Stop this. Let the laker have their team. If they get passed OKC we'll see them in the Finals.

tbh i just hate how they were able to obtain steve nash. Howard would not put them over OKC but nash might.
It would do wonders for this team's legacy if we could beat them though.

At this point the Lakers are HEAVY favorites to win the next two titles. Wade and James will have a hard time getting to the basket with Howard and Gasol there. In fact I'd be shocked if Miami wins more than 1 game in a likely finals series.

Let's not sleep on the Celtics!! They've got a dangerous team, I'd be more concerned with actually getting out of the East than predicting who will rise out of the west.

THIS! We don't have to worry about the Lakers until the Finals (and that's only if both teams get there). Right now our focus should be getting **** done in the East.

actually WE dont have to focus or worry about anything (unless you meant WE as in the MIA heat)

nothing we say or do on this board has any impact on what will happen next season

What? I thought we were all planning on suiting up at point guard and center this season?

Of COURSE I meant we as in the Heat team, although I'm sure plenty of people here will worry about a lot of things...in fact, judging from some threads/posts in the past 24 hours, it has already started.

lol that's just always been a pet peeve of mine

i've been on many boards and their are many ppl who really go out of their way to stop conversations instead saying "we should focus on ___"

MUST DRINK THE RILEY KOOLAID!!

now the last sentence was absurd but the rest is realistic
either way, OKC or LA, this "dynasty" thing will be much harder than anyone ever anticipated 2 summers ago

I'm a knick fan and was hoping Howard ends up with the Clippers somehow to keep some sort of balance. I stand by my comment. The Heat will win the east this year and next and I've no problem admitting that....there is no team taking out Miami in a playoff series in the east but considering the make up of the Lakers it'll be a nightmare matchup for Miami. It pretty much stiffles the Heat offense while having to guard Nash+Bryant+Gasol+Howard. I've hated the Lakers ever since the Shaq and Kobe era but no team is gonna threaten that. The Heat's major advantage was Lebron and to a lesser degree Wade getting to the paint almost at will and converting on layup after layup. Good luck with that against Howard/Gasol. Once a team like the Lakers is able to guard the paint like that you'll have big time trouble finding open shots for Allen,Battier,Miller...and once these guys start to have to hit contested shots it's over. This is no doom and gloom, this is pretty realistic as far as I'm concerned. I've been watching this league for 20 years now and have never seen a team consisting of 4 legit all-star with 4 top 5 players at their position teaming up together.

at least he came out and said he was a knick fan
and i see nothing in this post that is troll worthy

it's absolute truth
the heat offense is predicated on LBJ/Wade getting to the rim, collapsing the defense and kicking it out for wide open shots

or LBJ post up, get doubled and kick it out for open shots

i don't see how they're going to be able to that against LA, at least not as effectively as they'll be able to do it against everyone else

LBJ/Wade will have to take nash/kobe out of the game and even then LA is going to annihilate MIA on the offensive boards (which is how LA won titles in 09 and 10)

**** what other fans felt and **** the notion that miami is'nt still the best lets not forget that we have also gotten considerably better this offseason along with the fact that we are 3 years in and will be calmer and our backups will have way more confidence than ever before after coming up huge in the playoffs

Return to Miami Heat
