hey, don't get us (or at least me) wrong, there's nothing wrong with Reggie and I'm not a hater. But it just seems that you're overrating Reggie.

By no means is he the perfect shooting guard not named Michael Jordan (plenty of people already mentioned how Miller excelled at shooting, but didn't add anything more to the table).

He's clutch and he had a knock for making clutch jumpers, but don't exaggerate. Reggie had plenty of horrible game 7's, but since he had the famous 8 points in 9 seconds and the "Spike Lee" fourth quarter against New York the media over-hyped him as a great playoffs player. You can find plenty of poor playoffs performances by Miller.

There are a few shooting guards left who I'd take over Miller.

Add me to the list of people who don't hate Reggie, far from it in fact.

I have all sorts of admiration for him, his insane efficiency, and his career achievements. I'm just personally hesitant to call him the perfect SG not named Michael Jordan. I think he's a great fit for a do it all wing like Pippen.

Who do you envision as the first option?

Theres not gonna be a first option with many of these teams. MVP year Barkley was obviously a first option in Phoenix, Jordanless Pippen was a first option, and Reggie was a very clear first option as well. My goal with my team is to create a team where there is no liability, defensive or offensive, when any combination of players are on the floor. I can't go the alpha dog route because I didn't have a top 8 pick. Miller is a more than capable defender and an unstoppable pick and pop shooter and I would consider him a top 20 player for players in the league after '78

I hate to be on your case all the damn time, but what makes you say that Miller was a "more than capable" defender?

Very rough. In the office at 8:00am yesterday. Left at 10:30pm last night.

Sorry - will make my pick after a little research.

In keeping with my theme of "Guys who would go out of their way to embarrass you", I feel like it's time to take the guy who made a living putting fools on a highlight reel. He was one of the most violent dunkers and transition players to ever lace up a pair of sneakers, and was generally a tremendous player who never got the respect he deserved because he didn't have the supporting cast to break through a stacked Celtics squad.

That won't be an issue playing off Shaq and Isiah.

In 1985-86, the Human Highlight Film went what many people refer to as "bananas". To the tune of 30 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block per game

He also added an All-Star selection, All-NBA First Team, and finished second in MVP voting ahead of some guys named Magic, Hakeem, Kareem, Barkley, and Isiah. Not bad...

I'll put him in the broadcaster slot

I was seriously considering making an all white team for the lulz, but I don't think I can let this player slip past.

I believe he is the best centre available at this stage, so for All Star I pick Dwight Howard 2010-11.
22.9pts, 14.1 rebounds, 2.4blks, Fg 59%.

(Just please no one draft Biz, as we know he is Superman's kryptonite. :D )

I might keep doing my all white team myself and compare them at the end.

team fatlever selects allen iverson for the thief category. we will be using iverson from the 2000-01 season, when he won the NBA MVP award. in 2000-01 iverson averaged: 31.1ppg, 4.6apg and 2.5spg, while shooting 42%. in 2000-01 iverson embraced the role of shooting guard and scorer letting eric snow run the offense. he will fit perfectly next to the greatest pg of all time, magic. in fact, if you could pick any pg in history to pair next to iverson you would have a hard time coming up with a better fit than magic, due to magic's size. would there be a more feared backcourt on the fast break than magic and iverson? unstoppable in transition. and don't worry about how iverson will mesh with the rest of my team. this is magic's team and iverson knows it. magic commands everyone's respect. magic runs the team. magic is the pg. iverson is the lethal assassin and the go to scorer. just imagine the damage iverson could do on offense if he didnt have 5 defenders keyed in on him all the time.

I need a ruling on Moses Malone his ABA debut was 1974, but his NBA Rookie season was 1976 (which would be 1976-1977 season) if permissible I will take the 1981-82 season version of him for the "Black Hole" category. If not I will be on in the morning with my other pick ready to go.

- You can select any player whose rookie year in the NBA was 1977 or later (this includes current players).

Seems like a bit of a loop hole, but I think this does satisfy the criteria.

Anybody object to this?

You should have asked about taking him instead of assuming. Fair enough though, it was a stretch. Team A Different World selects 2002-2003 Tracy McGrady for the Journeyman category.
