Definitely agree with your quote, I think people are way too over in their head about comparing him to superstardom or the soon to be Lebron or Durant or Kobe company. His game reminds me of Gay but that doesn't mean he's going to be Gay, just the way he plays athletically on the court, and obviously he'll likely add more to his arsenal in the future and make him a version of Gay and whoever else. Right now the Gay 2.0 is already a high praise because a caliber of Gay 2.0 is in Carmelo's tier that's 2nd tier in SFs, if that's not good enough praise then I don't know what is
