there is no such thing as a "real" PG. you either play the position or you don't. lillard's a better PnR player and shooter than either of those guys coming into the league, so he does have that going for him.

Yeah you are right, i was thinking more along the lines of "true PG", I guess. I think he's going to have a bit of an adjustment to make to master the PG position. I just haven't seen anything to suggest that he's going to become an all star PG like so many are claiming.

How was his defense and did he play mostly at the 2 or 3? He was one of my favorite prospects and wanted him to fall one more spot bad. I think Mavs fans will be very pleased with the guy. Took a lot of shots in 15 minutes but was effective (except his FTs) getting 2 assists and 5 rebounds in 15 minutes

He played the 4.

I know nothing about Crowder, but I have no idea how a guy could go 4-6 from 3 and 0-5 from the FT line.

Wow, that's an impressive stat line for a guy who many GMs thought was too undersized to play the 3. The FT shooting is a bit weird but getting 5 FTA in 15 minutes is a good sign. Guy is gonna be impacting the game all over the floor when he gets minutes

Lamb's not looking so hot after the last game.

He settled for jumpers a lot. When he did dribble, he showed decent handles, but he couldn't seem to create anything with it. It's like he lacked speed or explosiveness to beat his man, and mostly passed off. He even got badly rejected by Jared Cunningham on a layup attempt.

He did miss a game with a sore left foot a few days ago. Maybe it's still bothering him.

He also looked really small out there standing next to/guarding DoJo.

My dad lives in CT now, so I saw a lot of Uconn games when I was visiting him last year, and this isn't some fluke thing. This is why I wasn't so high on lamb in college, because he doesnt have that killer instinct that his ability shows he can have. he settles for distance jumpers a lot of the time, and vanishes almost completely in late game situations. Obviously Nappier and him being a horrible floor general had something to do with this, but it still had a lot to do with Lamb as well.

I wonder if the Thunder are trying to mold PJ3 as a perimeter player. In the lone highlight of the Bobcats/Thunder game so far Jones has a sweet dunk where he starts all the way from the 3 point line.

Lillard's probably a lot better at creating a shot.

Brooks seems allergic to post play.

Of course, maybe they're thinking that in the long term KD becomes a Dirk-esque big forward.

Drummond continues to impress.

It's just preseason and he's coming off the bench and all, but it's still gotta be encouraging for Pistons fans.

Of the three games he's gotten minutes, this was Drummond's weakest. He had one defensive rebound, airballed a half hook on his single attempted post-up and had a bit less energy than the other two games. Even still, he was defensively dominant, blocked four shots, had an efficiency of +12 in 17 minutes and easily led the Pistons in on court/off court differential by +24. It's just a lot harder for the other team to score when he's in.

I disagree it being his weakest game. Maybe statistically, but I thought it was his best game defensively. He literally took over the game when he entered late in the 1st qtr by shutting down the paint on defense. It was one of those Ben Wallace type games, where the stats don't tell anything about the impact he had. He was the player of the game, imo.

I think that Ayon player had 20-10, yet if you watched the game you wouldn't even know he was out there, thats how little impact he had. Sometimes the stats mean nothing. I think the reason AD didn't have any rebounds was because he kept blocking or altering the shots towards his teammates, who were collecting all the boards.

He actually had 2 post ups, though the 2nd came on an offensive rebound. But he brought it back down and turned it into a post-up, showing good patience and awareness, and ended up converting for a basket. He shot 4/7 (57%) in 17 min. I thought he did as much as he could on offense for the time/touches he got.

I actually couldn't believe what I was seeing myself when Drummond entered the game. He really changed the atmosphere shutting down the lane and even getting his hand on the ball when they tried running the pick and roll. He has DPOY potential.
