He had one defensive rebound, airballed a half hook on his single attempted post-up and had a bit less energy than the other two games. Even still, he was defensively dominant, blocked four shots, had an efficiency of +12 in 17 minutes and easily led the Pistons in on court/off court differential by +24. It's just a lot harder for the other team to score when he's in.
I disagree it being his weakest game. Maybe statistically, but I thought it was his best game defensively. He literally took over the game when he entered late in the 1st qtr by shutting down the paint on defense. It was one of those Ben Wallace type games, where the stats don't tell anything about the impact he had. He was the player of the game, imo.
I think that Ayon player had 20-10, yet if you watched the game you wouldn't even know he was out there, thats how little impact he had. Sometimes the stats mean nothing. I think the reason AD didn't have any rebounds was because he kept blocking or altering the shots towards his teammates, who were collecting all the boards.
He actually had 2 post ups, though the 2nd came on an offensive rebound. But he brought it back down and turned it into a post-up, showing good patience and awareness, and ended up converting for a basket. He shot 4/7 (57%) in 17 min. I thought he did as much as he could on offense for the time/touches he got.
