No, not this time. The team that could do no wrong destroyed a beautiful nucleus

He's apparently a net negative impact player...decent offensively (I like his off-ball game), but an atrocious defender...like so bad that it overwhelms his offense and then some. And this is a consistent theme throughout his career.

Harden was a bad defensive player too, but he was a fantastic offensive player and was overall a very high impact player.

Food for thought.

I don't think Martin is in the future plans of Presti, just a stop gap until Lamb can take over.

Is this a joke? Harden could defend?

He could pass/make plays and creates for others and that's the only thing he has over Martin. He is a worse shooter/scorer. Harden has no mid-range game. He can't score from anywhere like Martin can.

What fantasy world are you living in? Seriously.

D12 wouldn't commit to Houston, no way Houston gives up all that for a rental Dwight.

So they've already got a commitment from Harden?

I have no clue, I would assume so considering they just gave up the farm.

Sam Presti is MF'N boss. He and Clay Bennett did not waste time pulling the trigger on that deal.

Win or lose the deal those dudes have huge brass ones. Wow

He's a better defender than Martin, doesn't matter if he could score "anywhere", kinda like saying Carmelo is the better scorer than LeBron because he could score "anywhere". Harden was more efficient scoring 17ppg last year.

Absolutely terrible for Houston. Beyond awful. People are dreaming if he scores over 20 points at above league average efficiency. I see around 21ppg on terrible efficiency with terrible defense. And they lost Jeremy Lamb and the Raptors pick? This will set Houston back years.

Terrific for OKC. Lamb is a stud and anyone can shoot godly efficiency in that team like Harden. Martin will have no problems shooting around 49% from the field just like Harden.

Agreed. I wouldn't be surprised if Harden totally flopped as a #1 option.

Presti is a fantastic GM

Both teams got what they wanted

personally I would have not some the trade if I were Houston

I think Lamb will be good plus 3 picks?

I think for guards that Offense has to be significantly weighted more in terms of overall net impact. I think it should be the opposite for bigs.

Congrats to the Thunder, could be a little rough in the short term but there is gonna be a whole lot of young talent heading their way. Especially if they can keep their efficient drafting up.

There is a reason why Harden got exposed as bad as he did in the Finals. Heat are the best PnR defense in the league. Harden can't get to the rim without a screener. Harden has no mid-range game so if he gets a pick but he doesn't get to the rim or doesn't get a good look in the 3, he has nothing.

He lacks scoring versatility.

He and Martin are the same defensively. That is complete lateral but Lamb is an upgrade over Harden defensively.

Kevin Martin is just an expiring.

Lamb is the future at SG for OKC.
