blazinskillz wrote:Why are we so horrible? Is this a DC thing where teams like the cowboys can get so much love here? I've been lurking this site for maybe 7 yrs and I notice that Wizards fans are always hard on their players. New york, Miami, Chicago will never dog out their main players as much as we do. Saw few people dogging Bradley Beal for his play last night. Why don't we appreciate what we have? Blaming management is something else but to have regrets one game into the season is another thing. I feel like we should support our team regardless...or just maybe find another team to root for. IMO Wall is one of the better PG's in this league, and he's a difference maker even with all his flaws, but people are acting like his situation wasn't worse than ever other top PG that we've seen in awhile. Sorry if this sounds like venting but we really gotta do better. I feel like last night, Wall would of willed us to a win. can't wait till next month.

Its all the fault of skinny jeans wearing, gentrified yuppy transplants. . .oops wrong thread!
GhostsOfGil wrote:DC having Cowboys fans is nothing new. The Skins/Cowboys rivalry, the Bush(s) administration, and DC being a huge mixing pot are all major reasons.
BUT I do think DC sports fans are generally pretty bad. Outside football, no one gives a damn about any of the teams until they make the playoffs. With that said, if your looking to bash our fan base, RealGM is the last place to do so. Some of the posters here have been active for almost a decade, enduring loosing seasons and constant disappointment.

The highest concentration of Cowboy car flags that I see around here is out on Branch Avenue. But I only moved here in the early 90s so maybe something else is going on.
DCZards wrote:There is some truth to that. I've had older African-American men and women--lifelong Washingtonians--tell me that they began rooting for the Cowboys (or another NFL team) because of the racial discrimination practiced (and apparently articulated) by Marshall.
We'll start signing Negroes when the Harlem Globetrotters start signing whites.
