Blatche looked good. Why? Because he ran the center lane hard and challenged every shot he could. He looked pretty good defensively. He'll be reigned in according to how he produces. Its one game so far. Not many teams have his talent coming off the bench at center and he was a big plus overall in this game. Look at Aaron Gray's play in this game for example. I'm more concerned about Marshon Brooks being too comfortable with fadeaway mid rang shots

Lopez was coming much further out on screens. He showed the feet to trap the guard to the baseline instead of letting him turn the corner. He challenged Bargnani at the 3pt line and caused a travel forcing He seems set on covering more of the floor.

Defensive effort was good. It will be a while before the team learns what each other can/will do in different defensive situations. I don't know what Wallace was doing randomly pressuring the ball at the point on a double creating a scramble for the help defenders, but I doubt the coaches know either. Those things will get ironed out.

Deron looks like he finding the balance between game manager and scorer.

This team looks BIG. We outsize most of the league.

Looked talented and sloppy. Brooks was hardly featured - we may be deeper than expected. One game means very little but I bet the win meant a lot to the team.

No he didn't. He was awful. Easily our worst player last night.

Yeah with the exception of that one crazy fadeaway going in and that one big block he was awful.

Blatche did look really bad.

He played like Petro on a career night.

Man I must have been watching a different game than most of you guys were....I thought Blatche played pretty good. Yeah, the ISOs were bad, but it looked like they were CALLED for him. I'm not gonna blame him for going ISO when the coach/PG wants to run that play for him.

He has a PER of 3.0 so far. TS% under 40% and a difference of minus 29 in ORTG/DRTG.

avery needs to make special "blatche rules":

- no passing unless its out of the triple threat position
- no dribbling outside of 12 feet
- within 12 feet no more then 2 dribbles
- no shots outside 15 feet

He won't be on the court then, he's not going to break all these bad habits.

All these bad habits are the literal definition of his game, his style of play.

People really thought this dude was going to come in and morph into a player that has never existed in his body and mind and it was and still is baffling.

He won't be on this roster by the end of the season.

Then perhaps he shouldn't put him in a position to do these things.

People are harping on Blatche and how he played are failing to see where the issue is. The problem isn't with Blatche. It's with the playcalling.

When the offense ran through other people, and the ball found its way to Blatche near the basket...it ended in great results.

It's when he is put in a situation where he HAS to create that he gets in trouble. Don't put him in those situations, use him as a finisher near the basket, as a big who can run, defend, and block shots, and he'll be OK. That's not a problem with the player, but rather player utilization.

We really shouldn't have Blatche trying to create then complain that the results aren't great just as you wouldn't give the ball to Bruce Bowen and ask him to run the offense. No, you tell Bruce to sit on the corner , wait for the pass then let it go if its kicked out to you.

Same with Blatche. Stop all these ISO crap with him on the high post. Let him set a screen and allow him to roll as a finisher. Use him as a cutter.

It's the same complaint with Brook. "OH MY GOD Brook needs to stop taking long jump shots!!!". Well you know what, then stop running plays that puts him in a position where the open shot is a long jump shot!

Ok Reggie...

If you want to scroll back a few pages you'll see MANY of us were killing Blatche during the game. I just looked up the stats to prove that he was awful.

It's pretty ridiculous to use the "sorry was watching the game not looking up numbers" excuse. Not even sure why I'm responding to it.

Killing him for what? Doing what was asked of him by the offense?!?!?

Playing some of the worst defense I've ever seen, taking fadeaways and forcing up bad shots were asked of him?

While Blatche has been far from good so far, Avery has been calling ISOs for Blatche. He did it several times in the last game.

Forget the fact that it's Blatche. If you're calling ISOs for your backup center at any point in a game, that's a problem.

Then what are you doing posting on RealGM? If you have time to post you have time to play!

Also, it's accurate apart from one very minor flaw
