Our victories thus far have contributed to those teams having sub-par records & disastrous stats.
The Cowboys were considered SB contenders (like always) before the season. We routed them, while other supposed contenders have struggled with them. The Colts are in playoff contention. The Panthers have lost a lot of close games. The Lions are in contention. The Rams would have a winning record, if not for a couple of close losses.
If our O-Line & playcalling improves, we will be even better.
All the teams you mentioned are mediocre. Whether or not the Rams, olts, Panthers and Lions are contenders means nothing. Yheyre simply mediocre teams. Cowboys are so inconsistent, I'm not sure many people consider them a threat at this point. We've gotta beat good teams to be considered good, and we havent played a spectacular team (maybe the packers) up to this week.
You can only play who is in front of you.
It'd be one thing if the Bears lost those games against mediocre teams...But they haven't. They haven't even come close to losing them besides that Panther's game. So, we can say, with confidence, that the Bears are better than mediocre. And I think being better than mediocre is just a really not fancy way of saying they're good. So, we can probably go ahead and consider ourselves good. (You can also look at the success of the team when healthy the past 2 seasons to make this point as well).
The question is "How good?" We could be SB contenders or we could be just playoff fodder. We're not going to find out in these next 2 weeks when we actually do play good teams. Only time we will find out is when we get in the playoffs.
Yeah, we're definitely good. I have no doubt about that, my point was that we haven't proven to anyone yet that we can beat the best. We lost to the Packers, who were the best team on our schedule up to this point.
