Imo, the question of whether he's a legit #1 option is right back on the table. Legit #1s can produce efficiently against good defenses. Harden can't.
Bottom line -- he is who we thought he was -- a very capable sixth man. He is not the league's next superstar.

OJ Mayo's 'efficiency' is not sustainable. His 3pt% in particular, on the volume he's shooting them. Saying that Mayo has been statistically better than Harden this season is an empty statement because there is no question that Mayo's productivity is not going to be sustained.

Harden plays much worse against good defenses and good teams compared to mediocre and bad ones. This was always the case, even in OKC. It's not a big deal that he plays worse against bad defenses because just about every player does but it's a big deal that he literally gets shut down by them.
James Harden's playing style resembles Manu Ginobili but his situation resembles Joe Johnson.
