ESPN’s Marc Stein reports that the Spurs are looking to call up James Anderson from the NBA Development League and have contacted Mickael Pietrus in the wake of Stephen Jackson’s injury.
Pietrus remains another option, according to Stein. He was unable to land a contract over the offseason despite averaging 8.4 points with four teams during his nine-year career. Pietrus appeared in 42 games for Boston last season. He averaged 6.9 points on 50.9 percent true shooting with an 8.5 player efficiency rating, well under the weighted average of 15. The addition of another Frenchman would give the Spurs four, including Tony Parker, Boris Diaw and rookie Nando De Colo.
Jeff McDonald has confirmed that Anderson's coming back on Twitter and with him that gives us 15 players on the roster so I doubt Pietrus is in play, although i'd love to have and with Parker and Diaw here I could see him wanting to play here as well.
But now at least we know who's going to be filling in for Kawhi and Jax, i'm little shocked that it wasn't Derrick Brown though, considering that he was one of our last cuts.
