People be like "oh he could shoot better so he's better on offense" .. Yo, Lebron could do things with the ball that Durant just cant do.. this is really not even debatable..

How so? Durant averaged 30.6 ppg on 55% FG in the finals on him while Lebron averaged 28.6 ppg on 47% FG in the finals on Durant.

Assuming you watched the series, did you feel Durant had a better Finals?

I like how he left out the turnover numbers. Durant had like 8 in the deciding game

So you cherry-pick one playoff series to make your argument? LeBron's metrics surpassed Durant's during the entire season, espeically after your adjust for opponent defenses and their respective roles in the offense. This isn't a myth; it's more like a fact.

If you watched the Finals and came away thinking "Gee, maybe Durant IS as good as LeBron" you are doing it wrong.

Its a typical JordanBulls agenda post. Im positive he won't answer my question. Anyone that feels Durant had a better Finals than Lebron, didn't watch the series. Durant simply didn't contribute anything aside from scoring. And in some games he just watched Westbrook while he sat behind the 3pt line and did nothing.

7th in the East. Not a chance of him being in this discussion unless their record improves drastically.

I think one thing we all agree on is that the MVP forces his team to a top/subtop record.

I watched it and thought "Gee, this is much better than what we saw from LeBron during his first two finals appearances. Very impressive indeed".

You're perpetuating a myth. Durant killed it in the playoffs last year, and peaked against LeBron and the Heat whom he posted one of the most impressive scoring performances from a perimeter scorer we've seen in some time.

And yet, LeBron was still a bit better offensively, all things considered. Saying that Durant played well (which he did) doesn't refute my point.

...terrible
At the same age i see Lebron going out in a series he put up 39/8/8 in

And at the age you are killing lebron for losing a finals i see Durant losing in the first round shooting .350 from the field. I guess since Durant didn't make the finals though we should hurt lebron for winning 3 more series at the same age

At the same age, Lebron was dismissed in the second round. The year prior, when he did make it to the finals after fighting through the horrid competition in the eastern conference(Wizards without Caron Butler and Arenas, .500 Nets team in the Semi's, 51 win Pistons team in conference finals), he was promptly swept by the Spurs while never scoring more than 25 points in a single game. During his next finals appearance, he froze in epic fashion, continuing his streak of never scoring more than 25 in a finals game, and was ridiculed for performing more horribly than a star of his stature had in decades, if ever. Not to mention LeBron's horrible efficiency all the while.

Durant's performance in last seasons playoffs supplants anything LeBron has done in the post season outside of winning a ring.

Proably because people like you were so eager for him not to succeed in winning a title with the Heat. In that same postseason, Kobe Bryant posted an average Game Score (all-around measure of performance) against the Mavs that equaled LeBron's, and his team was swept. Wade average Game Score against the Bulls in the ECF was lower than both players. LeBron didn't play well in that series, but it was not an all-time low for a star.

Durant's performance in last seasons playoffs supplants anything LeBron has done in the post season outside of winning a ring.

Also false. His '12 playoffs was not as impressive overall as LeBron's '12 playoffs, let alone LeBron's '09 playoffs.

Durant had his chance to prove he was better than Bron, that was the finals. He was promptly bounced in 5 games and I never thought for a single moment "Wow Durant is outplaying Lebron". Lebron is clearly the superior talent and to be honest a pre-injury CP3 would be the 2nd best player in the league right now not Durant. The MVP race isn't a two man race, voters will look at records, teammates and who has a great story. A lot of players are having good seasons but no one is breaking away from the pack. Right now my MVP ballot looks like this

1. Durant
2. Melo
3. Bron
4. Duncan
5. CP3

LeBron's failures have absolutely nothing to do with my wants and desires.

Kobe was bad, and Wade was unimpressive, but LeBron's embarrassing finals performance cast a shadow over both.

Also false. His '12 playoffs was not as impressive overall as LeBron's '13 playoffs, let alone LeBron's '09 playoffs.

The 13 playoffs haven't happened yet.

LeBron made an early exit from the 09 playoffs, and certainly wasn't as impressive as Durant leading his team past the defending champion Mavericks, the Lakers, and the best team in the league(at that time) in the Spurs to reach the finals at the tender age of 23.
