Rumors are he tore everything to tearing a patella tendon. If we get the 4th pick and Noel is drafted, Ernie needs to be fired on the spot. There's no guarantee Noel will ever get back to what he once was before this injury.
He'll still go in the lottery, just maybe not in the top 3. He's very young and medical technology is awesome.
Also, I don't think we will be picking 4th. We are sure to catch Cleveland and Phoenix (0.5 and 1 game back respectively) which would put us in 5th place. We are only 2, 2.5, 3.5, 4 and 4.5 game behind New Orleans, Sacramento, New Orleans, Toronto and Detroit respectively. We're probably going to catch a couple of those teams too. And we might get leapfrogged in the draft lottery by a luckier team. I figure we're going to pick somewhere in the 6-10 range unless we're one of the teams that leapfrogs into the top 3.
If Noel is on the board at #7, I'd gladly take him. As luck would have it, we have the front court depth to persevere another season without any help from our draft pick. He can learn from the bench, spend time in the film room, and do light practice workouts with the team while he rehabs. Meanwhile, we give Seraphin and Booker one more year with significant minutes to decide if they're worth resigning.
