How soon, if the Hawks acquire Humphries, could they turn around and trade him?

Could they trade him to a team in the offseason? I'm just thinking in terms of a Mavericks situation where they miss out on all the stars, and want a bunch of 1 year deals to keep flexibility for next year.

They can trade him right away in a 1 for 1 trade

He didnt play well last night. but you continuing to use FG%, ignore TS% (especially for a guy who shoots so few two point baskets) and ignoring sample sizes really makes you look like a mirza-troll. especially when you post the second after every missed shot

Yeah Im pretty upset that the nets wasted their MLE on this guy and people are still in denial that he is a bust.

I pray that the Spurs make and offer for him. Ill drive him to the airport myself.

You shouldnt believe anything in the last 48 hours prior to a trade deadline. Atlanta is desperate at this point. They are looking at two underwhelming offers from the Nets and Bucks. These "last minute" news blurbs are BS attempts to rattle teams into upping their offer.

32% from three isnt terrible. especially for a rookie to the league who plays once every 5 games. its not like we are talking kobe-esque 1 of his last 34 or something.

ATL is realizing they are in trouble. Teams are not going to bid up high for Smith for several reasons:

1) He already stated he wants out of ATL so teams can just flat out sign him if there is mutual interest after the season
2) Smith is looked at as somewhat of a headcase
3) Smith is not a max player but might be a 3/4 of a max player
4) The 5-6 teams that might be trying to trade for him all know this and are offering decent deals.

The Nets deal if it were Hump, Brooks, and a 1st round pick/Bogs is not bad for a player who is walking away from ATL in a few weeks.

If ATL wants to trade him out of the EAST they probably won't get anything better and might have walked themselves into a corner where they end up losing ATL's fans and any value they could have got in return for a young star player.
