OR magic send us the better player so we win more games thus increasing their chances of ping pong balls.

most sensible reason i've heard yet. but even that is a bit thin. what a weird, pointless trade for orlando, otherwise.

Doesn't this also help us by freeing up the 895k diff in their salaries to our cap? We were right at cap, now we should be below it by 895k, which we can use to try 10 day contracts and free agents with our final roster spot?

Yeah it seems this trade only benefits us and costs them 4m for the privilege.

I'm not complaining but definitely scratching my head.

:D :D :D :D WOW----I'm with Fats observation Looks like Orlando by waiving Warrick instead of Mc Roberts actually looses more $. Whats Mickey Smokin? Maybe they need a 2013 tax writeoff? I noticed both players have the same agent?
Anyway...Dunlap likes this type of player..Hope he plays against Denver this weekend..Who knows he may end up being the post player we have been looking for to backup Byron.
We got younger by 4 years also.

i dont think cap prevents you from signing guys on minimum deals. only number that would matter in that case would be lux tax number which we are well below.

but free money is free money.

Veteran presence maybe? And there is nothing wrong with them thinking he is better fit and/or slightly better. Or they were just outsmarted or they did it for Cho being a nice guy, who knows. 8-)

But they are going to waive him!

I've always liked McRoberts going back to Duke. I used to criticize Coach K for stifling McRobert's development by forcing him into traditional bigman role of only getting rebounds and never leaving the paint when McBob had serious perimeter skills and athleticism. Basically, if Josh was allowed to play like Ryan Kelly than Josh would've been a much higher draft pick and college player.

Cho-allejuh, we have a big that understands ball movement. He's not a strong rebounder, he's a streaky at best shooter but he's got good size, fluidity, moves faster than a glacier, and rarely makes boneheaded plays. BBIQ in the frontcourt got a big boost.

I was yet to catch up.

Gret albeit minor trade. Worst thing to happen is he won't impress and will be let walk - that's a no issue. I wonder if Henderson being on our roster was a factor, they were on the same college team, weren't they.

I think he has found a home.

He averaged 7/5/2 in 22mpg for the Lakers last season.

@stevekylerNBA: Hearing Orlando used Ryan Anderson TPE to obtain Warrick which would have expired before Magic could use it... Gain TPE from McRoberts

Just fine with this trade. Think he is a slight upgrade, a couple years younger, and saves us a few hundred thousand. Not complaining at all.

Decided to ask Magic fans what they thought about McBob. Answers ranged from horrible to Matt Barnes-esque. It seems to me that he is essentially what Warrick was to us, only stronger, sets picks, takes more threes.

Not the kind of player I want getting minutes. Pretty much sounds like Adrien with most of Tyrus's and Mullens's quirks.

Yeah, he hovers around Adrien in terms of productivity. I will say that a motivated McBob is a better player than Adrien but he certainly won't be any worse than Warrick.

I liked both Adrien and McBobs in college and think they're both worth more of a shot than Warrick. Not an exciting trade, but we're staying the course and building the team the right way.
