That is soooooooooooo not the point.

Selfish ass Rose. I say we trade him for Howard and Nash.
Nash
Butler
Deng
Noah/Mirotic
Howard

Maybe all the people that ripped Friedell and the media, for making up a story, or overreacting, want to apologize now.
I think there is little chance Reggie just flies off the handle and says this stuff without Derrick's knowledge or even slight similar feelings.
All this stuff is managed by the Rose camp and starting with the USA Today piece, its been a targeted campaign of increasing pressure.
This is not really good news for the Bulls, unless some thinking changes.

I brushed this off as just talk but now that this came out today I know Rose feels this way. He can't ruin his image of a trooper by making these comments openly but his thugged out brother can with no consequence. If Derrick didn't feel this way his brother wouldn't come out and say it. But anyway this is something most Bulls fans have been saying anyway. Tired of the FO making salary dumps and being hesitant to bring in talent when you see other large markets doing it.

And the thing that really gets me about this stuff is it is so passive aggressive. It's the kind of bitch move guys like Lebron and Carmelo pull and I thought he was better than that. This really makes me appreciate MJ even more. He'd trash his teammates, but he'd do it like a man to their faces.

What he wants is for the Bulls to get his brother some help. Rose needs a second consistent scorer alongside of him or his career will be shortened because he's shouldering that burden alone.
KingCuban wrote:What move exactly?
Its super easy for chumps like Reggie to say this, but do what?
People complain and can point all they like, but they never cite example or possible moves that actually make us better.
Its easy to sit there and complain, but no move we make is putting us a OKC level let alone a Heat level, given our best player is out and that these 2 teams have the 2 best players in the world right now.

The man has been playing too much 2K13.

Reggie Rose just threw every single person in the organization under the bus. Management, the players, ownership, etc etc.
It pains me to say this but a divide is developing that may one day end in Derrick Rose playing for a different team. Either that or the Front Office will be fired. But the relationship looks tenuous, at best, right now.
QBF wrote:Rose's brother is exactly right here. There is a reason for the perception Chicago has around the league. Let's be honest: in NBA terms, Chicago is more Milwaukee, Indiana, Memphis, Utah than Boston, Miami, New York, L.A.
The excuse the owner made of the Rose injury was appropriate only if the injury had been a career-ending one. Allowing your team to be gutted because your best player suffered an injury makes no sense unless your best player is never coming back.
These points have all been made before. They are indisputable, and they are devastating.
Asik was a fantastic defensive player, a true 7-footer with an incredible instinct for defensive position, an excellent rebounder, a good shot-blocker, and a a terrible match-up problem for the Heat. He was also a steal of a 2nd round pick who had only been in the league two years, and Chicago would only have had to pay him $5 million a year for the next two seasons. Big men like Asik are hard to find, and Chicago should never have let him go. Based on the nonsense premise of cap-space in two years, Chicago let him go for nothing. Chicago now has a washed-up vet-minimum player like Nazr Mohammed, who Chicago's coach won't even let see the floor, backing up a soon-to-be exhausted, if not broken-down, Joakim Noah. You get what you pay for.
Chicago had three fantastic, non-guaranteed contracts in Kyle Korver, Ronnie Brewer, and C.J. Watson, as well as an expiring contract in Rip Hamilton. These contracts totaled $18 million, and should have allowed Chicago to buy at least two future 1st round picks. Detroit needed outside shooting and cap relief more than anything, and a Korver and Hamilton for Ben Gordon trade would have trumped Charlotte's offer and landed Chicago a fantastic future Detroit 1st.
Sacramento would have loved to have dumped John Salmon's contract; Toronto would have loved to have dumped Jose Calderon's (to pursue Steve Nash with a larger offer); Houston wanted to dump Luis Scola (to pursue Dwight Howard); Phoenix wanted to dump Josh Childress; and Minnesota could have dumped a contract like Luke Ridnour (to pursue Nicholas Batum with a larger offer). Chicago could have gotten another 1st from a trade for one of these players.
If luxury tax concerns were at play, they could have amnestied Boozer. Chicago could then have started this season keeping their star player (Rose) and their defensive defensive core (Noah, Deng, Gibson, Asik, Butler) intact, while adding two more 1sts to the Charlotte 1st and the rights to Mirotic. They would have been the front-runners in every trade-discussion for the next two seasons, with the potential to add players like Harden, Aldridge, Afflalo, etc. All it would have taken is money, a fraction of the $800 billion of profit the owner has made on the bulls since breaking up Jordan/Pippen/Rodman.
Chicago now has little of value, and nothing to show for the much celebrated cap space/young roster of 2010. Just wait until Chicago lets Robinson and Bellinelli walk this summer and replaces them with even worse minimum-salary players, more Mohammeds and Radmanovics.

Exactly. I think the posters who are saying "I agree with him, Rose just wants to win!" and "I can't believe posters are turning their back on him" (which I'm not doing, by the way) are misunderstanding the concern here.
I don't have a problem with Rose or his people at all expressing these views to Bulls management. None. I don't even know that I'd have a problem with Reggie saying this at a different point in time.
But Jesus Christ, the season isn't over. These team is playing their hearts out like wounded warriors trying to keep it afloat in the hope Rose can return. The Bulls have been contenders for two straight years. Have two additional allstars to Rose. Are only not contending right now because of Rose himself.
And you come out and suggest that he might not return this season because his teammates aren't good enough, and he might embarrass himself by not playing great? When a guy like Luol Deng refused SURGERY so he could compete this year?
The point is that a camp that is willing to do that, under these circumstances, is basically standing there with a barrell full of red flags, throwing one after another into the air while shining a spotlight on them.
