Everyone already knows that a number of our players are not an overall good year, but throwing them under the bus DURING the season is just not the right method. And then straight up threatening that Rose's return could be effected by your disappointment in teammates? If Rose truly doesn't share Reggie's views, he needs to sit his ass down and tell him to chill out, seriously. These same ones you think aren't good enough are the same ones trying their best to play for the fans and hold the fort. That's f#$ked up you basically tell them they are worthless during the season, at least wait til the summer is approaching.
IMO, even if he does agree, Derrick needs to check his bro and do damage control asap.
I still do not see how you can view Reggie's comments more impactful than the moves (or lack of) that caused him to speak.
If Reggie saying the Bulls aren't good enough is damaging to the team, how is it now moreso damaging to actually make the team worse and break them up? Isn't that by default, more damaging. And in the middle of this season, trying to break them up farther by attempting to move Boozer and/or Rip, and not to get better either.
Sorry, you can't just say players know that trades are part of the game, but a teammate's family member saying they should improve is crushing by comparison. Deng was clearly rattled when he was nearly traded in 2008.
Rose will come back this year and the team will have no expectations now because of what Reggie said. They might even over-achieve. There will be less pressure on Rose to put the Bulls up with Miami, which many media people and analysts have already batted around, and many Bulls fans, probably are still secretly hopeful for.
