Just looking at some of the top teams, here's the list that jumps out at me.
Pacers:
D.J. has been... underwhelming, to say the least. Whether Brooks is an upgrade in talent is debatable at this point. Indy would also have to drop a player, likely one of Pendergraph, Ben H. or Sam Young. I don't see them dropping Pendergraph for a guard, Ben already knows the system and they just brought Sam back. I don't think the Pacers are a landing spot.
Verdict: Not likely
Grizzlies:
Here's an intriguing option. Memphis lost a lot of depth in the Gay and Speights deals so they have both the roster and cap space to add someone. Conley, Bayless, Wroten and maaaaaaaaaaaybe Allen are the only players on the roster right now that can run the offense. Brooks is a bit redundant with Bayless, but I'd look out for Memphis.
Verdict: Strong chance
Rockets:
I'm torn on this one. They'd have to drop a player and Beverley has been playing well. The only person I could really see them letting go is Anderson if they feel Garcia will replace him in the rotation. I like Brooks on their bench, but I don't really see it.
Verdict: Not likely, but maybe.
Knicks:
If they insist on the 1-3 rotation of Felton/Kidd/Shump then they could use a point on the second unit. They have to cut someone like Sheed or Copeland. It could happen.
Verdict: Maybe
Lakers:
Depends on if the FO is desperate enough to think that Aaron Brooks will solidify their postseason hopes. They need to drop someone (DJO, Sacre, Morris) and we know that LA isn't afraid to spend. We could see it.
Verdict: Maybe
Jazz:
They need a guard in his mold. They'd have to cut someone (Murphy?) but I could see him going here.
Verdict: Likely
Boston:
I think they want to wait to see who out of White and Randolph stick, but they have a need for some depth and I guess I could see Brooks fitting here. They just made the deal for Crawford, though. If Brooks goes here, it might not be right away while they wait on their other 10 days to run out.
Verdict: Maybe
Smart money is on the Grizzlies or the Jazz. The more I think about it the more I think Memphis.
