With Lin's recent strong play i'm more and more convinced that we are just a solid PF away from being a real scary team.
as long as it isn't josh smith
I am not totally unconvinced (tonight excluded) that d-mo couldn't be that player with a little more growth and getting used to the pro level. he has the post game, he can shoot the 3 (at least he can even though he is 1-11 on his last 12), he plays with a lot of effort
he could turn into a really good player, and I just don't know who would be worth it to piss him off by benching him for....smith? please god no, millsap? I like him but I don't know if d-mo couldn't be better in a year or 2, Jefferson? same as millsap, landry? rather d-mo's potential
who else is there?
Dmo isn't a good 3pt shooter though. He has 3pt range but he's not a serious threat. All you have to see is his career FT%.
He shot 17% from 3 in the dleague this year.
He shot 15% last year in Europe.
I dont think Dmo is a natural shooter. The only reason why he's starting(besides the obvious fact that we have no competent 4) right now is because he can stretch the floor.
I'm absolutely not convinced Dmo is ready to be a starting PF on a contending team.
He can be a 15mpg kinda guy off the bench behind Josh Smith, Aldridge, Love.

IMO Dmo has potential to be real good, 3 4 or 5 years down the line. But i'm ready to see a contending team next year.
Slight spacing issue aside, i think Josh SMith would be a massive upgrade over what we have right now. I'm warming up to him to be honest.
