Sometimes, I think sportswriters routinely drop names of players or teams just to get readers. That said, consider this from Sam Amico:

League-wide whispers say Andrew Bynum could end up with Hawks next season. As for Sixers ... man, who knows?

It's from https://twitter.com/SamAmicoFSO/status/ ... 8430251009

"League-wide" - "whispers"
Does that mean anything at all? Or was it a case of Amico asking some friends from around the country, "Do ya think Bynum could go to Atlanta?" "Sure, I guess."
My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

Don't know if the answer was coached, but for someone connecting the dots, it's not a bad conclusion to come to. We need a C and we might need to save some face on the Smoove situation - the signing would kill two birds (at least) with one stone so to speak. If PHI doesn't jump on Bynum before FA starts, then I'm sure we'll be contact - if nothing else, then to get him in front of our doctors. It's just what happens from there is really where the questions start coming.

Should be interesting to see what happens in PHI if we start sniffing around Bynum though. Can they let him walk after giving up Igoudala, Vucevic, Harkless, a 1st, and taking on Richardson's contract for him? He would have spent more time at the bowling alley during the season than on the court for them. I know there's some hard feelings right now, but if they turn around and let Bynum walk and Bynum does play and plays well for his next team, then this series of events could go down as the worst by a team in NBA history - and that's really saying something. The would have lost arguably the 2nd best C, the best C prospect, the best perimeter defender, and 2 1st round picks to boot... Ouch.

If Dwight falls through than Bynum wouldn't be a bad plan B. He is only 25 but the knees are a concern. If he'd do a short contract, like 3 yrs / 36 mil w/ the third year as a team option, then I'd love to give him a go. He is an All Star and NBA Champion. Sure he won those championships were with Kobe and Pau, but the experience of going deep in the playoffs would be valuable. Also, it'd get Horf over to the 4 spot. The only other thing that is in question other than his knees is his motivation and maturity. Does he even want to play basketball anymore? If Bynum/Horf/Smith/Player X/Teague is going to work, LD is going to have to step up or step out. He is going to have to hold these guys accountable and let them that anything short of their best game in and game out is a failure.

That is just a bad contract. 12 million of cap gone for a guy that has been healthy ONE TIME. He is who he is. You might as well give Oden a long term deal while you are at it.

I dunno.. you might have a 7ft Craig Claxton on your hands. In suits more than a uniform.
Where the offseason has more buzz happens.

You put Bynum & Josh on the same team and AL Horford's head would explode.

L Drew would probably just off himself...

Too much immaturity.
