I would rather see the jazz in the playoffs, too, but I want them both to fall a few more games behind us.

I would rather jazz lakers and mavs all miss, though and someone like the blazers grab the 8th

Yeah. I'd root for Utah over LA too, but I don't think we have enough a cushion. 5 of our last 7 games on the road. Before we say a couple of them are against Phoenix and Sacto, those are two teams we've already lost to on their court.

Would be awesome if they all missed it and Blazers make it. But right now Lakers missing the playoffs would bring me as much if not more joy than the Rockets making the playoffs...

well not really but its close.

BTW, Greg Smith at the 4 something we're going to see moving forward or just a matchup thing versus Griffin? He played well IMO, on both ends.

Asik/Smith looked more impressive than Asik/Motie, I have to admit.

yup. That's why the Rockets having the easiest schedule post-ASB was actually a curse!

They only got 15 each, yet the Rockets won by a landslide. I'm a believer in team ball rather than hero ball. Of course, you need a superstar to take over a game at times and take the big shots at the end of a game. But if you play superstar/hero ball all the time, it's less effective than team ball.

So True.
It's fun to watch hero ball but even Lebron plays team ball to distribute talent evenly to maximize other players potential.
Unless, your name is MJ, you should put your team first before anything else and have your super athleticism takes over AFTER your team mates are in-sync with the flow of the game especially in defensive end.

Id rather see Harden play hero ball... at crucial points in the game when we need a basket...

other than that... Harden being an efficient shooter id rather see him taking more spot up 3s

at least in the regular season so he can save his body...

and have another game plan when the refs tend to swallow their whistles in the playoffs

MJ didnt start winning until he started to trust his teammates...

he would just cruise along letting his teammates do the work...

then impose his will on the game... when he decided to turn it on...

it was a thing to see... unfortunately I was usually cheering for the other team

No doubt he is our best scorer and I expect him to shoot during a crucial moment.
A crucial moment without preparation means nothing more than asking for lucky shots to go in unless again if you are MJ.
He has tremendous energy and talent on looking for his own shots.
If he uses at least 1/3 of his talent/energy to have his teammates involved during an early part of game then the Rockets wouldn't even be in so many crucial moments in later part of the game to begin with.

when your team continually flops...refs are gonna eventually get tired of it and not give you any benefit of the doubt on many calls...haha

I wish that were true, but Chris Paul and other pathological floppers have been doing it their entire careers and still get call after call. Maybe this year's flopping rule will finally make a difference.

I was really impressed by that combo. The defense tonight was what impressed me. Especially Beverley---one of the best defensive guards I've seen this year.

We'll see if that rotation keeps up. I've been suspicious they'd be better for quite a while now.
Morey 2020.

Q:How are they experts when they're always wrong?
A:Ask a stock market analyst or your financial advisor

You and Your rebound loving ways... :)

I think it works against Blake and Jordan because neither one of them have a good J beyond 15 feet. When you play closer than that, Greg Smith has just enough foot speed to stay with you and Asik doesn't have to wander very far from the basket, so he can still help from the weak side.

I don't think it will work against the Spurs, but unless Serge Ibaka starts nailing jumpers again, this might even make Oklahoma work a bit.

And it only took a beat down from Indiana and Memphis to figure it out. Still, no fault on Mchale. This plan B is as far a departure from our normal way of doing things as one can get. The clips looked tired and completely out of it as well.
