I think it works against Blake and Jordan because neither one of them have a good J beyond 15 feet. When you play closer than that, Greg Smith has just enough foot speed to stay with you and Asik doesn't have to wander very far from the basket, so he can still help from the weak side.
I don't think it will work against the Spurs, but unless Serge Ibaka starts nailing jumpers again, this might even make Oklahoma work a bit.
And it only took a beat down from Indiana and Memphis to figure it out. Still, no fault on Mchale. This plan B is as far a departure from our normal way of doing things as one can get. The clips looked tired and completely out of it as well.
