I'd be ecstatic with Parker. Need to see more of Wiggins. We really need to be bad next season.

Draft Noel and he doesn't even play part of the year...helping us stay "bad" enough to land a top 3 pick again!

No reason to root for the Lakers. There is no possible way they don't give a 1st rounder to Suns this year, it's impossible, there is no scenario that exists where they keep the pick.

2nd, we get the Lakers' pick two years after they give their 2015 1st rounder to the Suns, not the 2013. It's only top 5 protected in 2015, top 3 in 2016 and 2017, very likely we get their pick in 2017.

If they don't make the playoffs at least once in the next three years we end up with two second round picks.

Noel sitting out won't make us suck it's probably the other way around. A 19 year old with super raw offence and a whole NBA learning curve ahead of him playing would be a hell of a lot better than having a Vet like Big Baby starting every game. Even Kyle o Quinn would probably contribute to team success more than a rookie Noel. And if we drafted Smart/Burke, there's no way in hell they'll do better than Nelson in their rookie season. They'll get rid of moore though but that's about it. I'd be more worried about our young guys improving drastically.

It's what I'm hoping for. I wouldn't mind sitting Noel for the whole year, prep his knees for the rigors of the NBA.

Draft Noel in 12-13. Get Jabari or Wiggins in 13-14. Get John Wall 14-15.

PG - Wall
SG - Wiggins
SF - Tobias
PF - Noel
C - Vucevic
Bench: Harkless backing up the 2 & 3, Nelson? Udrih?, Nicholson, K.O'Q

Would be sick.

Do we NOT have two 1st rounders in 2014? As far as i remember we have whichever is the worse pick of Denver's 1st and New York's pick. Why is nobody talking two picks next year?

and Lakers 2017 or whereabouts

Maybe im wrong.

The Sentinel is wrong. I am not sure why this is so hard for people to understand. If the Lakers have the 6th-30th pick in the 2015 draft, it goes to Phoenix, and we are next up on the clock for the 2017 1st rounder. If it's 6-30, we get it. If not, we get 5-30 in 2018 or completely unprotected in 2019.

If by 2017 the Lakers haven't sent either their 2015, 2016, or 2017 1st rounder to the Suns, we end up with their 2nd round picks in 2017 and 2018.

Lakers have 7 games remaining, 5 at home, 1 at Portland and 1 at Clippers (LOL), they will make the playoffs thir year barring any injury.

Maybe in 14-15, right? Kobe could retire after next season, the sad part is that for 14-15 season they only have Nash's contract (9M) in the books, so they could re-build via FA around D12 (if resigned) + old Nash in 1 offseason.

I guess if Orlando hope LA makes the playoffs this year and then tanks, the path would be for Howard to sign in Houston or Brooklyn. That would almost force Bryant and Nash to retire. Then what for LAL ?

Idk, they would have something like 50M to spend in 14-15 offseason, so they could lure easily 3 big FAs like Miami did... what are the FAs in that class?!?

Everyone seems to be forgetting that, despite sucking this year, our young players have had tremendous opportunities for growth through extended playing time. Chances are they all take a step forward next year, especially after a full summer league and training camp together. We're a team that can actually improve a good bit by simply "standing still." We'll have young players with great chances for improvement plus a number of veterans coming off injuries that are also impact players in BBD and Afflalo. Expecting us to completely suck again next year probably isn't realistic, at least not without some work.
