Funny how much these two got compaired and discussed but at the end of the day their production is almost identical.

Lin PER:14.7
Felton PER: 13.8

How are they identical?

Lin: 107 games started
Felton: 547 games started

Big difference

Felton has a lot more experience when compared to Jeremy Lin which is an advantage for the Knicks in our own right due to us being a true contender as of right now. But it's not right to compare the two players as of right now, because Raymond Felton had a much better (overall) season when compared to Jeremy Lin. The only aspect of Jeremy Lin's game in which was stronger than Felton's game, were pretty much Lin's field goal percentage. Felton had a FG% of .427%, a 3PT FG% of .360, a FT% of .789% along with a TS% of .505%. Lin had a FG% of .441, a 3PT FG% of .339%, a FT% of .785 along with a TS% of .538%.

Not trying to crap all over Lin here but keep in mind while reviewing these numbers below, that we have Felton locked up over the next two years (2013-2014 & 2014-2015) for only $8,540,000 while Houston's stuck paying Jeremy Lin $20,123,938 during the next two up coming seasons. A difference of $11,583,938 over the next two years. In short Raymond Felton is not only better for our current team (veteran leader) but also much, much better for our team moving forward.

Ray: 13.9 points, 5.5 assists, 2.9 rebounds, 1.4 steals & 2.3 turnovers per game.
Lin: 13.4 points, 6.1 assists, 3.0 rebounds, 1.6 steals & 2.9 turnovers per game.

Ray:Player Efficiency Rating of 15.22. Assist Per Turnover Ratio of 2.40. Steals Per Turnover Ratio of 0.61. Usage Percentage of 22.1%. Turnover Percentage of 14.2%. Record of 47-21 (.691%).

Lin:Player Efficiency Rating of 14.94. Assist Per Turnover Ratio of 2.11. Steals Per Turnover Ratio of 0.57. Usage Percentage of 20.8%. Turnover Percentage of 18.8%. Record of 45-37 (.549%).

But yet Jeremy Lin is due $11,583,938 more than Raymond Felton over the next two seasons? Simply mind boggling. Our front office hit the nail on the head by A.) Allowing Houston to overpay for an inexperienced Lin due to a handful of games and B.) Trading for Raymond Felton. Outside of a simple FG percentage, in regards to pure PG production, Raymond Felton has a much stronger season when compared to Lin.

With all that said, it'll be hilarious (on Houston's part) if Jeremy Lin returns to the Knicks come the summer of 2015/2016 once both Felton and Lin are free agents. Felton would be 31 years of age while Lin's only 27 along with enjoying his prime/golden years. Allow Houston to overpay while developing Lin over the previous 3 seasons only for Lin to return back to New York as an experienced PG with postseason experience. The joke would then be on Houston's front office/franchise. Only time will tell, but if Jeremy Lin is as loyal as some of his fans claim, he'll return back to the franchise in which made his NBA career (for much cheaper) and/or gave him his only true chance along with his monster payout he later received from the Houston Rockets. No matter how much I judge Jeremy Lin, I'd be lying if I stated I wouldn't take Lin over Felton while Felton's 31 compared to an experienced Lin who's only 27 years of age two years from now (it's called perspective).

Lets not forget that the numbers Felton put up during 2010-2011 with the Knicks during 54 games were stronger than what Lin put up, during Linsanity. In closing we'll now see how both players perform come postseason play. Where it truly matters.

^Yeah I'm excited to see my boy in the playoffs. :) Not so looking forward to Harden hogging the ball though... ugh.

I also want Felton to succeed despite his flaws he's a nice guy and I want him to play well for us Knicks. When he's on, we're pretty hard to beat. It'd be nice IF Melo has an off game and Felton steps up with a mini breakout game say, 24 and 12, which is like the Spurs game early in the season.

---

I think the Bulls have the highest chance of upset in East to topple the Nets. Their suffocating D can severely limit Lopez's operating zone offensively

In West, the Lakers have highest chance of upset vs hobbling Spurs, especially if Gasol keeps playing the way he's been (2 triple doubles since Kobe's injury).

Other than the Knicks, the East matchups look boring as hell. The West looks more fun.

Oklahoma City Vs. Houston
- I like Lin, and the Rockets are a good young team, but I doubt they get one game out of this series. Boring Series.

Spurs Vs. Lakers
- Should be a fun series even without Nash and Kobe.

Nuggets Vs. Warriors
- This one is going to be fun. I want to see what David Lee has in the playoffs.

Clippers Vs. Grizzlies
- A new rivalry. This is going to be a nice series.

Harden vs OKC is a compelling story.

Melo used to shoot horribly his first couple years but was still as impactful of a player he could be. Harden is a great, elite player, and will only get better. We dont have to worry about "upside" and "potential" with him...he IS a superstar, point blank. The only question is how great will he be.

Melo was a much better scorer, IMO, in that he didn't rely on the whistle, but actually drove the ball to score. Harden gets bailed out a lot, but as you can see in playoff like games where the game slows down and defenses get more stingy, he's not going to get the benefit of the doubt nearly as much. Thus, all of those no-calls when he barreled towards the rim.

Getting to the FT line is a skill, not something that should count against the player. This is ridiculous.

Of course it's a great skill to have, but I think there are plenty of times where he relies on it too much. He'll just drive to the basket with his head down and barrel his shoulders into big defenders and expect to get the calls.

But not competitive. Rocket's ceiling is winning 1 game against OKC.

There are 4 interesting matchups:

Bulls vs. Nets

Knicks vs. Celtics

Clippers vs. Memphis

Denver vs. Golden State

I don't think any of the other matchups is gonna last more than 5 games.

I'm bored, so somebody entertain me

Geoff Petrie puts in a call to you (The New NYK GM)

Listen, we're moving to Seattle an we need a fresh start, so we're gonna blow it up.

Big Cuz is never gonna work here. He loathes everyone in the organization and to be honest with you, I think that he could be great in a situation that isn't a cesspool. I'm willing to part with him, just so long as the other team doesn't make me out to be a jerk and I can get him in a decent situation.

Give me STAT and Shumpert...he's yours.

Deal?
What do I care...it's rigged anyway

The Oklahoma City Thunder spoke to the Toronto Raptors about a trade centered on James Harden for Jonas Valanciunas.

The Raptors 'quickly rebuffed' the interest from Sam Presti in the trade.

Felton doesn't turn the ball over because he's always doing that dribble it up and chuck it before the free throw line. When he drives, he does that patented off balance, not looking, hoping to get a call...Lin is DEFINITELY the less talented player but he is SMARTER than Felton...and he has more Ball Sac when he drives.

I really think the Chicago-BK series will be fascinating.

The Pistons took another step towards getting better by firing Frank. Telling ya, Monroe/Drummond/Knight that is a great up and coming athletic squad...and with Dumars watching contracts expire one after another, they really are assembling a good, balanced, deep squad.

Trail Blazers waive Jared Jeffries.
Jeffries hasn't played in a game since March 10, making this move completely expected.

CHICAGO – A 25 year old Peoria Illinois man filed a lawsuit Thursday against Chicago Bulls Superstar Derrick Rose. Matthew Thompson, a self-described long-time Bulls fan, and electrician claims Rose missing the entire 2012-2013 NBA regular season has caused him to have mental breakdowns and emotional distress, which ultimately led to obesity issues.

The former MVP is still recovering from an ACL surgery which has caused him to miss the entire season, his status for the playoffs as of Thursday is still unknown.

According to reports, Thompson claims Rose displayed negligent behavior by refusing to return to the court, despite having been cleared by team doctors. He blames his health issues on the MVP’s refusal to return.

No word if Peoria County Officials will take this lawsuit seriously.

Some people should go to prison for stupid lawsuits such as this one. Talk about reaching, what's the difference between something like this and insurance fraud?

Speaking of Rose, I am disappointed that he's not returning in the playoffs, lost respect for him.

I wouldn't be too surprised if Lin and Harden go off together in a couple of games (as happened in their win over OKC) and the Rockets end up taking two games. On the other hand if OKC does a good job of trapping them and Harden and Lin struggle with that, they could be swept too. But I think it'll be interesting.

Lakers last 11 games (9-2 record)...

Pau Gasol
37.2 mpg, 16.5 ppg, 52.7% FG's, 10.6 rpg, 6.3 apg, 1.2 bpg

Dwight Howard:
37.7 mpg, 21.0 ppg, 63.8% FG's, 11.8 rpg, 1.5 apg, 1.3 spg. 2.9 bpg

Looks like they figured out how to play together. They're both putting up allstar numbers and then some. If they keep it up against San Antonio, then the Lakers will be in the 2nd round.

How bad was that last loss for Houston. They're going to get swept instead of playing an old, gimped out SA team. I can totally see LA beating them

Gino isn't playing at all I thought.

Return to New York Knicks
