Even if he is an average starter next season (15th best) that is pretty good with the crop of pg's out there. And he could keep it close against the elite pg's like Kyrie.
I'd be shocked if he were 15th best. I wouldn't complain and would have no problems saying I was wrong...but I'd be shocked.
Woah nelly...I don't hate Knight but you realize it's an absurd expectation that he becomes a top-15 starting point next year, right? These guys are the top 12, whom he almost certainly won't be better than:
Derrick Rose Rajon Rondo Ty Lawson
Russell Westbrook Kyrie Irving Jrue Holiday
Tony Parker Damian Lillard Stephen Curry
Deron Williams John Wall Chris Paul
So to get into the top 15 he has to be better than ALL of these guys except two:
Mike Conley, 15/6 on a very very good defense-first team, 3rd in the league in steals
Br Jennings/Monta Ellis, whichever of the two MIL signs and trots out next year at point
Greivis Vasquez, who just averaged 15/9
Goran Dragic, who's had a PER of 18 the past three years (though nobody notices because PHX is terrible)
Kyle Lowry, who's had a similar PER the past three seasons
Ricky Rubio, averaging 10/8 and leading the league in steals his first two seasons
George Hill, one of the vet leaders of the East's 2nd or 3rd best team
Jeff Teague who put up 14/8 this year for a playoff team (better after the all star break)
Kemba Walker who posted 18/6 for a sh*t team
Steve Nash, who's awesome if his legs function
Plus whoever teams that are currently weak at PG get to start for them next year
So all in all...I wouldn't be betting my lunch money on BK becoming an above average starting PG next year.
