So the whole logic that athletes can't get endorsements in Detroit is just a myth.

Its not the city, its the athlete. If you have a larger than life star athlete, the endorsements will go wherever the athlete goes.

Dyess was definitely a great signing. But, he was also a low profile signing, because the league had pretty much believed his career was long over and Detroit took a shot on him.

Webber was the "biggest name" signing, that's all. He didn't provide much to the team.
