I wanted to make a deal but you reach the point where if the other side is being unrealistic you have no choice but to walk away. I agree with what everyone is saying: in short Sterling is an idiot. he had a chance to get one and possibly two hall of famers who would have changed the course of his fanchise for all time. the intangibles with KG are as important as the on the court stuff. Instead they walk away because of an additional first round pick and concerns over $3M and Doc's salary. I'm speechless really but I always knew with sterling as an owner that this was a possibility. I'm sure his negotiating style in business is the same; low ball, low ball, stall, stall, low ball and hope the other side gives up out of frustration and caves. Now, I am pulling hard for Chris Paul to walk away from the Clip and sign with the hawks. I'm not mad about this- it's kind of hilarious really. The ball is now squarely in Doc's and KG's courts. I suppose Doc could breath some life into this deal by offering to take a pay cut but I feel like like we've invested enough time talking to these clowns and its time for us to move on as well. I don't want doc back though- that much I'm clear on.
