You're losing Doc, KG and Pierce this summer now anyways most likely, why not at least get SOMETHING for them. Pierce was already being bought out, Doc was already getting cold feet (you guys made a thread 3 weeks ago about moving on from him) and KG was contemplating retirement if Celtics go into rebuilding.
Clippers were going to settle the finances with you guys for Doc, DJ is 24 with upside still and if he doesn't work out can be flipped next deadline for decent value with a year left on the deal. The Clippers on the other hand are strong favorites to keep CP3 anyways and don't mind keeping young assets to trade.
Now so much has emotionally been invested by both sides that to break the deal up is going to have huge repercussions, especially with Boston as I said.
Homie, I live in SoCal, and IMO DeAndre is a dumpster fire. I wouldn't take him and the 25th pick for free. At 11m a year (and 13m cap hits), the opportunity cost of DeAndre is just too high.
I would *much* prefer to get nothing. So would anyone who has actually watched him play.
