Is it? Tweets still sound like they are trying to work around the issues.

Edit: Not looking good. Stern interview saying even if the transactions are divided, they still knew the intent and will stop it.

I agree, but I also think Jameer is perfectly suited to move into a sixth man role. Instant offense and leadership ff the bench, can continue as captain and leader in the locker room.

Apparently picks are OK, but once you obfuscate the real deal by introducing players, that's where you're crossing the line.

I mean, can anyone even pretend that a straight up trade of KG for Deandre Jordan is real?

Oh, and by the way, we're also trading 2 first rounders for Doc in a coaching deal.

It didn't come across clearly, but I meant quit in terms of the idea that he quits and then is signed by LAC. Boston would agree to waive the non-compete clause and let him go. They should all have the right to do that.

The deal will happen, Stern is just saving face. He will make them put in some work, change it a little and say it is satisfied.

Gotcha. Yeah, sorry, I didn't get that from your post.

The problem with that is Boston wants compensation, which is their right. So if they can do a deal that is just Doc, released from his contract in return for say a first round pick, that would be fine. The risk is they then try to trade Jordan and a first rounder for Garnett and Stern vetoes it (because they would clearly be related deals).

Now what? A reasonable scenario that then could play out is that CP3 is unhappy because he wanted them to get KG, so he leaves. Which leaves Doc in basically the same position as Boston, a mediocre team that needs to retool, so he's unhappy as well. Heck, KG could even retire.

In one move Stern effectively screws LA, Boston, KG, CP3, Doc, and the Clipper fans. I guess Boston comes out thembest because then they tank and get rewarded with Wiggins in 2014.

I just had another thought. Maybe this is just Stern taking out some grudge against CP3. Or trying to keep him from resigning in LA.

Wouldn't want the Clippers to outshine his beloved Lakers, after all.

This here's got the makins of a news story. It's gonna be very interesting to see what comes of this. It seems Stern would have to allow them to knowingly circumvent the CBA for this trade to occur. There is no way the Celtics waive the non compete out of the goodness of their heart.

Why does the league even care if coaches are traded?

Does the CBA actually cover coaches? I don't think it does, thus you're combining CBA covered "workers" with non-CBA "workers." Maybe that's the issue?

There is nothing about this in the CBA.

Yeah that makes sense, you know, given that he cockblocked the Lakers from getting CP3 which lead to him being traded to the Clippers...

We had to give up a 2nd round pick for signing SVG while he was still under contract with the Heat . I thought that was league imposed punishment I could be wrong though. Is that the same thing as this proposed deal?
