You really don't appreciate how good defensively Bosh is. He is ok rim protector, elite pick and roll defender and VERY GOOD post defender when he defends guys his size. Plus, he
1) sets good picks on offense
2)doesn't require much touches and shots
3)has elite efficiency on mid range jumpers what allows us to run pick and pops and space the floor + due to the fact that he is camping near 3pt line he is usually first on defense (and when big is first on defense you are in good situation).
He is a gem guys, gem. There is nobody in this league that we could replace him with(considering his role and our system). LMA is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay worse defender and less efficient shooter, Love is a liability on D, Garnett is old etc... There is no PF in this league that would be upgarde for us in place of Bosh. Of course if we could get great C for Bosh I wouldn't oppose (e.g. Howard) but that's unreal.
Let's just sign Birdman and Dalambert. hat's really enough.
Oh and I would add somebody young on the perimeter. Maybe one of the undrafted free agents.
Um actually Bosh is average as a post defender, I agree he is very good in the pick n roll but lets be serious, he spends a lot of time in foul trouble while defending the post, most of them are stronger, plus Bosh was average at best in Toronto, he has just grown immensely, Who's to say Aldridge cant in this system, point is lets not underrate LMA to uplift Bosh. There are things Bosh exceeds at and there are things LMA does, notably being an above average post player/foul drawer
But I agree, if we can resign Birdman and maybe pick up Dalembert none of this will matter anyway
